I think 325 is more than reasonable, maybe even a little cheap for a full paint correction. Remember, you usually get what you pay for.

If you are scratching your paint when you touch it with a mf you have some bad mf's. Check them on a CD and if they scratch the CD they will scratch your paint. First thing I would do is get some better towels so they do not scratch. I would also educate myself on proper wash and drying techniques. Buy better towels and a leaf blower for drying. And pay a good detailer to properly prep the paint and expect to pay up to 500 for a good detailer especially if the swirls are bad.

Or you could sell it and buy a silver car.

The pricing really depends on the market. I know some guys that wouldn't do full paint correction on black for $325, or even close to that.

Also, with it being Jet Black from BMW, there's only so much the OP can do. Again, some of the best detailers that I know throughout the country, who use only the best towels, are having issues with BMW JB. Just wiping the polish residue is causing swirls and marring. So, while good wash techniques and quality tools and products are key, BMW JB is a whole 'nother animal.

The color doesn't make much of a difference unless the detailer decides working on AW will take less time (because it's easier to finish down on). Realistically an AW car in similar shape to a JB car won't take significantly less time. It all depends on the condition they are in to begin with. FWIW, my prices for full correction start at $450.

I know this is old, but I'd invest <$300 and just do it yourself. It gives you control to do it at your leisure and you'll be able to keep up with the JB troubles for years to come.

You just need to set aside 6-8 hours twice/year at most.

Get the Porter Cable 7424xp
Menzerna 203 (orange or white pads)
Menzerna P106FA (White or black pads)
Menzerna 85RD (Blue Finishing pads)

Then top with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant and a nice Carnuba like Natty Blue.

You might not even need the 203 if your paint isn't bad.

I'm new to detailing myself, but I did some test panels today with the above process and couldn't be happier. Wow is all I can say.

Meguires M105 for heavy swirls on an orange pad speed 5
Meguires M205 for cleaning up marks from the M105 and light swirls on white pad speed 6
Glaze on the blue pad speed 5
Blackfire Wet Diamond on the Black Pad. speed 5

That comes to $265. Take a Sat morning to wash and claybar and buff it. You wont believe how satisfying it is to see your swirl free car that you did yourself.

6 weeks ago I knew nothing about detailing cars. I lurked here for a while and researched the hell out of the process and techniques, boutght a PC 7424, Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction kit, MTM Foam Lance, and some other odds and ends (buckets, MF towels, etc).

Spent just over 7 hours last Saturday washing, claying, and polishing my 07 SGM 335i sedan and could not be happier. In fact, I think I'm going to do my wife's Acadia this weekend.

It's a lot of work, but the end result and sense of accomplishment is absolutely worth it for me. Good luck.

Anyone need detailing advice, don't hesitate to ask me questions about scratches, swirl marks, polish, cleaners wax etc.... I detail cars professionally, black paint is my specialty.

try the new turtle wax black box... just used it to try it out my self and its pretty good result for 17 bucks.
