CCTV at Home / Hikvision

Has anybody bought hikvision systems on ebay?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hikvision-...19.m1438.l2649

in the options I have selected 6x cameras. 8channel DVR and a 2tb hardrive and its coming out to £327.99 inc delivery

local shops near me are quoting £400-£450 for something similar.

how is this guy selling them at this price inc delivery and with ebay fees I bet he barely sees £300.

is there anyway to tell whether they are actual genuine hikvision or the Chinese copies?

thanks

The cameras are not hikvision they are a company called go vision and they are HDTVI cameras. These are analogue over hd cameras they are ok but you are better off going for AHD. He probably does see more as they are props Chinese copies.

The only item in that package that is hikvision is the dvr.

Id go for the Qvis 8 channel viper with varied focal qvis 4mp cameras they are a great picture. I fit these all day long so ye go for them.

the seller confirmed they are go vision. how did you know?

I have heard mixed reviews about Qvis. I have a budget of around £350-£400 and only really need 5 cameras. is this something I can get with Qvis?

I checked the model number. Iv never heard of go vision and iv been fitting cctv for about 8 years now. as for qvis iv been using them for about 8 years with no issues. Price wise 5 cameras and a 8 way dvr your pushing it for 400 don't forget depending on the wires your running it off are going to cost you.

are you using ready wires or cat5 also power supply for cameras.

I used a cheap version cabled HD 4 camera system and it worked really well. Installed three and all been fine. 1tb drive which lasts around a month before it overwrites. Installing is a pickle but once in was fine. I have an app as well so I can view when out and about

With AHD or TVI cameras 5 cameras you will need about 2tb to get about a month and 99%of dvr's now come with QR codes to scan rather than the old way of port forwarding to be able to view on mobile phones. Try the cameras you have found the spec is ok as I said I don't know go vision never used them. Hikvision DVR's are ok. Let me know if you need any help.
