cooling system pm

I've had my '07 335i for a few months and am starting some preventative maintenance. Walnut blast and plugs is this Saturday. Charge pipe and DV are done. Suspension and transmission were done right before purchase. So now I'm looking at cooling. Water pump and thermostat are obvious. Radiator is pretty cheap so I'm doing that with pump. The question I'm posting is hoses. Should I do all of them for $536 and be set for the next 100k miles or is it over kill. Car has 87k now and plan on keeping it for at least 15years. I want to get pm done before performance mods. Any good suggestions are appreciated.

Whats up.
I did my waterpump+therm proactively as well at around 110k. at 143k now. Haven't changed radiator.
If i were you and the radiator is in good condition - id rather get better air intake or better intercooler. Then at some point maybe upgrade radiator.

Got fmic just didn't mention it. I figure pop coolant system 1time. OEM rad is $200. Plus rad and fmic out should make pump/thermostat job a lot easier.

My radiator is at 293,000 miles. I did all my hoses at 236,000 (7 years and 7 months) and none of them were close to needing replacement. My cooling system is tight as a drum. I did replace the radiator cap at 236,000 also. On the 335i the hoses near the turbos probably are worth looking at.

Thanks for the info and I plan on seeing your type of mileage. I think rad has a small leak I loose about 1qt every 4-6 weeks. First time I got low coolant was 1st time it got below freezing. I though cold weatherand topped off. Month or so later got same message and added about same amount. So 1/2 gal of distilled water since purchase in September.

Losing coolant at that rate means there is something amiss. But it should also show a mess somewhere in the engine compartment and should be easy to track down. I'd try to find it first rather than just replace everything. Have the system pressure tested.

Had walnut blast done yesterday so took a real good look. Fan was off and didn't see anything on back side of rad. Skid pan was off and no wetness on it. Nothing around valve cover either. No oil leaks anywhere and 0 signs of coolant. So I'm thinking it must be front side of rad or someplace outside the perimeter of lower pan. Overall engine looked great, and now its clean inside too.

I don't mind spending $1200 on an all new cooling system as I spent $1500 on just rad and fan for my big block SS396 Chevelle. Coolant issues are intolerable for me.

Next weekend I'm changing fmic and will have another chance to look it over.

On the 335i the hoses near the turbos probably are worth looking at. __________________ A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
