So I found a black 2007 328 coupe, has all the features everything, price is awesome. But when I called the dealer they said it has a $3000 repair from one year ago.

He said he's not sure but he "thinks" it was the front bumper and the xenon lights that were replaced for $3000.

How believable do you think this is? It makes sense that the xenon lights cost a lot, but is there any sure way to figure out what the exact repairs done to the vehicle were?

And if it really were just xenon lights + slight front bumper repair, would you purchase the car if you were getting a really good price on it?

I'm from canada and we use carproof.

He said the carproof says $3000 repair, but it doesn't say exactly what was repaired, now I've never used carproof, but is that how it normally works where it doesn't tell you exactly what was repaired?

Do not buy it. A standard magician's trick is misdirection. The drama you've been informed of could well be hiding the drama they found a way not to share. The fact is none of us needs any drama related to our cars.

find another one. front bumper and xenons replacement together make it look like a front end damage/collision which may not be detailed or reported to carfax.

Could be the front end. Xenons are pretty damn expensive. If you're really dead set on the car, then get a mechanic to check it out. If it all checks out, buy it.

have them take the bumper cover off ... if you see a vin sticker, the bumper wasnt replaced.

Anyway the carproof says what shop the work was done at? If so see if you can give them a call and see what they have in their records.
