E90 N55 Spark Plug Part Number
I tried to search, but couldn't find the answer to my specific question(s) regarding Bosch spark plugs for the E90 N55:
1. Bosch part # ZR5TPP33-S R6 2. Bosch part # ZR5TPP33 R8 I know #1 is the proper OEM plug for my car. 1) What's the difference between #1 and #2 (R6 vs. R8)? 2) Will there be any ill effects if I were to use #2 vs. #1?

After doing some research, it looks like the heat range (3rd digit of part number-5) is the same for both plugs.
Does anybody have any insight on what the "-S" and "R6" or "R8" in the part numbers represent? |

I ended up calling Bosch tech support @ 888-715-3616. I was told the "R6" or "R8" at the end is just a manufacturer's code (I'm guessing batch number or something similar) and doesn't signify anything I terms of the plug itself. I was told both of the above plugs are one and the same.
The "-S" however, does signify something. It is an updated version of the original plug. The "S" model has an updated "ground strap." That's the answer to a question no one's asked other than myself. Cheers. |
