Carbon Black - Named after carbon paper
So not only do I strongly dislike carbon black as a color, but where the idea stems from too. The more you know!

And I'll be replacing my G20 with an M3 in individual Oxford Green Metallic. And..... I actually don't know where this color originates from. Oxford University uses more of a blueish color whereas Oxford Green is very obviously Green. But... this is the closest I could find:

Isle of Man 🇮🇲 Green.
Fenella Beach, Peel Isle of Man. Domagoj Dukec and I discussed the colour over a cheese sandwich at TT 2018. You can't make us out but we are just above the beach wall in the second photo.

Love BMWs colors! Sunset Orange Metallic is phenomenal, changes from a burnt orange in the sunlight to an end-of-sunset-red at night!
Thanks JustChris for helping me navigate this app |

Love that Oxford Green, wtwo3. Seems a bit darker than traditional British Racing Green and classier than IOMG (IMHO).
I'm looking forward to seeing my Dravit Grey G80 in a couple of weeks, and I appreciate your explanation here as I didn't know about it. My first BMW was an E39 in Toledo Blue, identical to this one: I never really knew where that name came from. There was a Toledo Blue Stockings minor league baseball team in the late 19th century, whose logo (below) does look somewhat similar to the car paint... but that's an awfully obscure reference. If anyone else knows the real answer, I'd be curious.
