Hi guys,

As the title says we are proud to announce we are again the first vendor to bring you another exciting retrofit for your BMW - the 6NR ConnectedDrive.

We are also offering other retrofits for BMW cars including CIC, Combox, 6FL, 6NF, PDC, M3 Instrument cluster for a non-M3 BMW and more.

The complete list of features of the 6NR option:
1.BMW Apps:

2.BMW Plugin - "...changes the iDrive screen to the same look and feel as the iPod function on an iPhone.It allows you to take advantage of all the iPod features (Genius, album art, compiling playlists, etc) that are not available via the basic USB connection. 3.Video Playback - enables video playback from iPhone

The 6NR option requires the following hardware components:
- CIC - latest generation HD-based Navigation system
- Combox - Bluetooth/multimedia module
- 6FL - USB port in the armrest

Depending on your current car specification we can offer you all or just selected components listed above as well as full coding and programming to enable the ConnectedDrive.

Installation:
Our installers located in NJ, FL and North California are ready to help you with the 6NR and other retrofits we are offering.
In you own a shop in other states and would like to offer our retrofits to your customers do not hesitate to contact us.

You no longer have to buy the new base plate and snap-in adapter to use the BMW Plugin and Video Playback!

I just took delivery of my new 335xi last week. It had a production date of 3/2011. It's fully loaded w/ Nav, etc. I don't have an iPhone, how can I tell if the 6NR option has been enabled? I thought at one point I saw the Apps menu option but its not showing up on iDrive anymore. The dealer tells me that I have the combox.

How about looking at your window sticker? Either "Smartphone Integration" will be there for $250 or not.

This is not something that it is enabled or not from factory. Either you paid for it and it is functional in your car or you did not and it isn't even installed in your car. This thread is about retrofitting the 6NR in cars that did not have it from factory.

I do not understand how people go to a dealer, buy a car and do not even know what the car comes with other than an engine, 4 tires, doors and a roof.

First, there really is no reason to be an a$$hole . The car was ordered in December before 6NR was an option. Smartphone integration, iPod/USB Adapter, Nav. (609,639,6FL) was added. I had read that a 3 series ordered before the Jan/Feb factory retooling, provided they were ordered with the above options, would automatically get the 6NR software/codes. Since I have the hardware, including the combox, the question was whether or not I needed to have option coded or drop in an iPhone. If you don't know the answer to the question please don't reply.

You do not have all the 6NR hardware, if you do then you would not had asked this question.

Now that we know each other so well, asshole to asshole, then let's answer your real question. The Combox is just one part of the hardware, and if you did not order the 6NR option then you will not have the 6NR baseplate and wiring installed.

So think about what you are asking and the thread that you are in. Even if your CIC has the 6NR software -if was in fact produced in March then it most probably has it- the main piece of hardware is not even in your car -the 6NR baseplate. Before March there was no 6NR software installed so I don't know where you got that information.

Send an email to Patrys, get the baseplate from him, install it and let him code your CIC to recognize it. BMW already stated that they will not offer a 6NR retrofit, so that's your only way to know.

Thanks, but I was hoping for some pics of the actual retrofit hardware that allows everything to work through USB and a description of what needs to be done to install it, not 6NR in action.

The hardware is all OEM and will be installed by our installers as a part of the group buy:
