No bass

07 328xi with Jodi sound system. Sub under drivers seat isn't working at all, but sub under passengers seat works just fine. I'm going to try and swap the sub from passenger side vice versa. If the drivers side sub still doesn't work, is there a way to disassemble and repair the subwoofer? Or am I better off buying a new one? I'm assuming since the passenger side works it's not amp related

No clue what sound system you are talking about .
If aftermarket list components.
Never heard of a manufacturer named Jodi
If it's and installer only people within a 30 mile radius will be
aware of it.

Three basic OEM types
are
stereo
Hi Fi
Top Hi Fi = Logic 7

08's in the US came with Hi Fi or Logic 7

BMW stereo types

You can get used Hi Fi speakers on ebay or in the buy and sell section here.
You can also get the Hi Fi amp in the same places and they are pretty
cheap and easy to install.

Also be aware that there is almost no output from the Hi Fi system underseats
even when it works correctly. It's a really weak system overall that fall's right apart if you try to turn it up at all. The weakest piece is the amp and the speaker are not that far behind.

But is there a way to repair the subwoofer itself? I also read something about the amplifier channel is blown and could be replaced?

Unless you go out and buy the chips yourself and plug/solder them in
does it make any sense to repair and amp when you can get it
used one for less than 100 bucks on ebay and it's only a single
plug connector that detaches the amp with the throw of a lever.
Plus you will not find anything but a block diagram for a schematic.'

Same goes for the speakers used once are super cheap on ebay .

And I am talking about factory OEM replacements in both cases.

This overflow of used parts comes from people that have upgraded to
aftermarket stuff of just wrecked e9x's.

There are places that sell re-cone kits for speakers and even repair
them but unless you they for something special it does not make any
sense to do so.

Awesome, thanks for the input man. I'm going to switch the subs tomorrow and see if the drivers side plays or not. That'll tell me if the sub is bad or it's the amp. Thanks again man

And one last thing. Do I hve to recode the new (used) amp or anything like that? Or is it plug and play? If I do have the go that route

I swapped out the amp with the same model number (bought on eBay)in my 2009 e93 with hifi system - no coding required - works fine - plug and play

Hi Fi is just a simple analog amp .
So no coding even possible.

Sorry for such a late response, not sure if this is even an issue for you. I never fixed it as the music works fine, but the mechanic at my Indy said one of the Channels is blown in the amp and to buy an exact replacement the the gentleman above suggested. Should be plug and play, but I have the car to the gf so not really a worry anymore
