Not sure what you mean by "It had nothing to do with coding".
And yes, it looks mighty scary and could render the car into a really heavy paper weight!

I did find a video of you showing how to enable digital speed on dash

https://youtu.be/UoAK2d97HjQ

I'll try researching more on tool32 and what can do. Thanks.
Expert Mode in the app has nothing to do with coding. The app performs a streamlined function of these three programs, NCS Expert (coding and VIN writes), INPA/ISTA D (diagnostics, adaptions, resets, error clearing) and Tool32 which can do just about anything but code and flash. There's no part of Expert that does any kind of coding, it's strictly Tool32 functions.

Tool32 actually can code and flash. However, you would never do that, because you have to manually construct every argument, which is difficult even if you know what you are doing.

There's a reason it's called 'expert mode'.. if your only experience with coding is a phone app, you probably shouldn't use it.

Appreciate your input on the export section, gentlemen.
I was wondering about it for adding CD Changer option to add a CD Changer emulator bluetooth streaming box.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1499808

Requires VO changes, and that's not something available through the regular app coding function.

technically you could make that work, yes. But like I said, you'd have to find the right command and the correct arguments.

Do you know how to do that? I'm fairly proficient with Standard Tools but that's way outside my box.

I know what the commands are, but I have no idea how you would use them (without spending hours figuring it out anyway). It's just not worth it - use NCSexpert or WinKFP, they do the hard stuff for you already.

Exactly, but it would be a impressive skill to have.

I did but I turned it off. I wish I could somehow get it back so I could use the rest function in the winter.

Maybe try restoring the backup?
I know the app makes a backup of each module after first time accessing one.

See their instruction on the app on the Play Store (they replied to my comment/review)

I wish managing backups was more intuitive and allows you to make multiple backups per module.

I just updated the app and it said it would only be compatible with bimmergeeks cable.
I have been using a cheap amazon cable and it was working fine before.
Now, the app connects to the car and displays the car info, but when I click a menu, like interior, a screen pops up and it just says interior. It doesn’t give me Interior options anymore. Is this because I really don’t have their cable?

Might be. I'll bet they had too many support issues with the generic cables, because a lot of them are bad quality. So they just stick to what they know works.. it's unfortunate, but the market is flooded with a lot of junk.

Long term solution, get their cable.
Short term solution, uninstall the app, find and install the previous version before the update (really not recommended). You will probably loose your backups.

Wow... they've been actively enhancing the app.
Latest updates are really good.

• Coding backups now saved on device storage in case app is deleted.
• Allow multiple backups and restores.
• "Tools" function added to coding page.
• License verification moved from 3 to 5 days to allow longer offline use.
• More gauge customization options(Add/remove gradient and customize gradient color).
• "Setup" function added to logging page.

And they allow coding of LCI radio, lighting menu to modify voltage/brightness....

And F series support is coming!

It was mentioned on the app's update section on the Play Store.
I haven't tried it on the app. I'll try tonight and report back.

Yeah the lighting functions menu. I have had a look through the modules and couldn't find that one. Also checked that the app was up to date too.

Cheers if you can. Much appreciated.

I just tried in the car, didn't find any of the new sections.
Even went as far as reinstalling the app. Still nothing

I clicked “disable brake pad wear sensor” or something along those lines and my dash brake light stayed on.
Put new pads on 2 days ago.
Was also able to code out license plate light check(because I put led bulbs)
4/12 things I want to code I have done, the other 8, I have no clue what to look for.

Halos light up when door is unlocked(welcome lights?)
Brighter halos
Brighter headlights
Disable brake pad wear sensor
Reset fog light frm (so my left fog light can work again)
Driver door window rolls up automatically when driver door is open.
Brake lights blink when strong force is applied to them

One feature I would like, but not sure if its codable on any platform/program, is to have the rest climate button serve as “all” button when the car is on. “All” as in it changes the passenger climate to the drivers climate without turning the passenger knob. Some e9X have this “all” feature. Would be cool to use my rest button as an ALL button when the car is on, as the rest button doesn’t do anything until the car turns off.
I have an LCI where did you find the coding for brighter headlights and Halos? What was it called? Lol couldnt find it myself.

Anyone have a clue how to get past this for getting INPA to work? No one seems to make an easy guide that I can find and I need to code my injectors

If you or any one figures out how to code the brighter halos, and brake lights blinking when during hard braking....PLEASE let's us know. I'd like to have that. Also I still cant seem to get my side mirrors to automatically fold when locking the car.....any ideas?
