Thoughts On This Mod?

I'm toying with replacing the original kidney grill with a black one and painting the lower grill mesh black as well BUT not sure if this look suits the atlantic blue color of this e93 vs the chrome grill & silver mesh since I'm not blacking anything else out. Thoughts?

looks great, I like the way the chrome kidney grills with the silver/grey lower grills really lifts the front of the car. Very classy, looks much better than the black.
Great mod

Yeah I think I'm sticking with the chrome/grey look vs. black. I too think it looks more "classy" and really not trying to make the car look like a sport/racing car.

My $.02

Black, uppers and lowers, double slat gloss for the kidneys. Have you thought about just going the same color gray as the lower mesh for the kidneys? I'm not all in all the all black, I just hate chrome on any car.

Then get yourself some LED corona bulbs and fogs, then code out the bulb test at start up to keep the strobes at bay.

I like it on just about any car other than black, it's just too much black. I feel the same way about black wheels, I do not care for the look.

I agree on not liking the chrome, but if that photoshopped picture is all I had to go on, I'd say keep it as is.

I assume your window trim is polished aluminum? If that was gloss shadow line, or if you painted or vinyl wrapped it gloss black, than I think the gloss black kidneys and lower grills would look good.

You could add a gloss black trunk lip to complete the look. Do your side mirrors have any black trim on them?

Google images for "atlantis blue E92 MSport" to see what black trim would look like. Most of the images will be M3s, but it's close enough to give you a good idea. I think the gloss black looks good on atlantis.

If you like the chrome, just buy a new set for a cleaner refreshed look. And only go OEM.

So that's a Photoshop pic of the it's car with the black look then? I thought he'd done the blacked out mod, hence my sarcastic post....Doh

Thanks for the feedback. Yes the blacked out picture is photoshoped so I could see what it would look like. I'm going more for a classy vs. modern/aggressive sporty look so decided I'm sticking with the chrome accent kidney grill & silver/grey mesh as it does go well together. Was also contemplating adding the oem front bumper lip spoiler/splitter that was part of the M-sport package but again think that completely changes the overall look of the car into more of a sport look so think I'm also passing that mod up. I like the look and idea of keeping it original.

An Aero lip would help the front bumper also.

Toying with the idea but not sold on it yet as it changes the front to a more aggressive sport look and I like the classy/elegant look it's got going on now especially with the Atlantic Blue/Saddle Brown colors...

The PO installed one on my E92 and it's the next best thing to an MSport bumper.
