Ticking noise coming from engine
Hi Guys,
I have the same problems as some of you.. Engine filters has been replaced, after cople of weeks the noise was back. After my research I tough the permanent solution to have the BMW to change the "head" but I was told with some of friends is that it is better to live with the noise hen take the engine apart. I was wondering If I don’t change the "head" would this cause any damage to engine in the long term? Any ideas or input would be very helpful .. I have 2007 328i coupe with 54K on it Thank you |

I got my cylinder head changed due to the ticking. Glad I did it as the ticking was gone, and the car felt smoother compared to before. I had the master tech at Budds BMW working on my car and only my car (only 1 tech).
He did a great job and everything was back in its place. Nobody knows the long term effect as these cars are not very old, but why not get it done when you have the chance. That thread posted above is a great read, it will show you that some people had problems by not changing out their cylinder head. |
