sooooo....while we're on the subject....
for wheel size 18x9.5fr +35 and 18x10.5rr +22....what would you recommend for adequate tire stretch. i'm slammed on coilovers and rear fenders are rolled. so far the following sizes were mentioned, however using ~XxPornxX~ method of tire stretch calculation (i stole from another thread), i don't think these will work: 225/40 Fronts -> (225*.4)/9.5 = 9.47 245/40 rears -> (245*.4)/10.5 = 9.33 OR: 245/35 fronts -> (245*.35)/9.5 = 9.03 265/35 rears -> (265*.35)/10.5 = 8.83 these are no where near the 5-7 ratio Tee mentioned. what size should i be looking at guys? my Volks right now are 18x9.5 +22 with 245/40-18 in the rear and no rub. |

If you are vendor now, aren't you suppose to recommend the basic setup 8.5/9.5 et35 as a flush setup.

umm import36...while were on this subject i have a confession. I noticed your previous thread about changing things up and opting for an aggressive stretch look. A part of me was doing backflips in my head thinking finally! he wants to jump ships and cross over to the retarded dark side. I didnt want to jump in and tell you what to do but now since you ask those sound like te37s off the shelf specs? try to imagineer this in your head or im sure someone here already has this setup. 9.5+35 is flush at | oem -.65 camber fronts. 10.5 +22 pokes 9mm at \ -1.8 natural camber rears. 225.35/245.35 will give you a nice even/matching stretch and yes both ratio (8.2/8.1) are very close. Given your desired camber thats plenty of stretch to help clear. congrats on the vendor badge Devin! I hope your time helping everyone here dont go unoticed. Lac i also have a confession for you...sometimes you have some good one liners that i still think about even when im taking a dump...i just have to chuckle lol

to add a little more "drama" into this pool...they also offer this wheel in a front size of 18x9.5 +22 offset, but i figured this would cause me to have to run more of a poke than i'd like to see. i already have several size spacers available to me, so i figured if the +35 in the front wasn't enough at least i could space it out a bit. if i get the +22 and it sticks out too far...i can't go back! right? as an alternative....19x9.5 +20 front and 19x11 +25 rear is also an option....but i don't believe i have the patience or skill to make this fit on my car (camber plates, camber arms in rear, etc.) |

yes youre right, 19x9.5 +20 front will require plates esp on e92. about having patience/skill wise...from my experience and others..we normally take small baby steps. So with you going from a sunk setup to a poke bypassing the standard flush is hard to swallow even if you had extra funds/time. Its hard to accept for some to go from performance wide tire to a narrow stretch just for the "look" and even that stretch look "looks" horrible for purists to accept (who cares). ultimately this look grows on some mostly due trend influences. Its your car...do it and best of all its the learning experience.... when you park and take that double take walking away from it...its all for the look.
sorry i got off track lol, but if you want to get more aggressive up front with plates... you can ditch the 9.5 and run 10 up to 11.5...yes 11.5 fronts.

tire brand....reading on forums such as stanceworks...and wow do the opinions vary. it's looking like falken 452's or nitto 555's....thoughts? what are you guys running? edit: Nankang NS II's also seem to be decent... Last edited by import36; 02-27-2013 at 09:04 PM.. |

depends on what youre looking for in a tire. daily usage/track/cost/stretch. If youre not a tire snob, these brand stretch and works the best (per exp) for the cost/daily use/all season. hankcocks/achilles/nangkang/sumitmo/generals/federals/yoko. They run more true to their advertised width vs the narrow patch and round shouldered toyo/falkens.
Those toyos/falken/nitto you selected are sticky and costly in which i wouldnt run for daily. toyos has a really stiff sidewall thats not stretch friendly and falken been known to bubble up inside the sidewall.

Mr porn, I need some advice please!
I noticed you said you REDRILLED your awesome work wheels from 114.3 to 120! I got my eyes on a set of rims that are only produced in 114.3 Do you think redrilling them will firstly be safe, and second of all ruin the look by adding holes? Have you got any close up pics of your rims once REDRILLED? Many thanks, Josh |
