Why is 98 fuel killing my cars on the Gold Coast?
Hi guys. This is going to sound like a strange thread but please have an open mind. I am at my wit's end! To cut the long story short I have been living on the coast for close to 10 years now. During those 10 years I have owned 9 performance vehicles with all the exact same symptoms. I would have the vehicle for couple of months before selling them due to utter frustration.
The issue I'm having is as soon as I fill up my car with premium 98 octane fuel my car starts to shake slightly, exhaust starts to pop, huge loss of bottom end power and I get around about 198km out of a full tank This has happened to every single vehicle I have owned. My current car is a BMW 335i and it drove absolutely beautifully when I test drove it at the dealer. I asked the dealer what grade of fuel he was using and he said he was only using 95. I drove the car to Gold Coast and filled up with a fresh tank of 98. 1 day later I would start to develop huge turbo lag, then progressively get worse. Idle would start to get slightly rough and the car would sound and feel restricted. What is going on here!? |

Shit/contaminated fuel would be my guess. Only thing that makes sense when going to a higher octane fuel. But doesn't add up when you say over a 10 year period lol
