one wheel sticks out more than the other

rear driver's side sticks out more than the rear passenger side

what could be broken? car drives fine otherwise. noticed this after after coilover install and car was lowered

yup car was aligned after coilover install. -2.5 camber 0 toe in the rear

it was less noticeable before, but now that i put spacers on, one wheel is pretty much flush and the other looks slightly tucked in

can't really tell from my photos, and the street is at an angle so one side is higher than the other due to the weight shifting

maybe i'll just leave it alone.

but, out of curiousity, in my last pic, is my toe angle correct? both tires clear fine (just fender liner rubbing), but it's like i have so much room under the top arch of the quarter panels, but none where the quarter panel meets the bumper.

i talked to matt@cambertoe and he told me it may just be an uneven height issue..

hopefully i'm imagining things and the solution is that simple

so i'm revisiting this issue. put air in the tires today so i took more time to scrutinize.

the side that is supposed to be higher (driver side) actually has less room between the tire and fender. this leads me to believe it isn't just a height issue. if it was, i'd have more room between tire and fender than the sunken side.

Some potential causes:

1. Wrong tire/wheel combination. Probably not the case if you didn't get new tires installed, but it can happen where they mistakenly install the front wheel on the rear tire with a staggered setup.

2. Different heights/alignment between the rear axles. While the vehicle is on level ground:

Measure and compare the distance from the center of the hub and the top of the fender. If they are different, get them adjusted. Note that on my E46M, the left side was always a bit higher than my right when I got the heights adjusted to account for driver only weight. I don't know how the shop set up your coilover system.

General rule, if both sides are set at equal camber at equal heights, the side that lowers(loading on a turn or uneven road), the more negative camber.

What about the position of the 2 bolts?

They're "eccentric" bolts, meaning the fat part of the washer will determine how much further OUT the top arm is pushed. Looks like the bolts are set at the same with the fat part of the washer sticking either straight up or down. It doesn't matter what the "position" of the bolt is at. It matters, what the offset portion of the washer on the bolt is pointed to.

ugh.. my shop told me that's the reason, and that it's making my camber way off. they said the top bolt should be on the bottom on both sides

never an easy fix

so, the shop did not set up your camber right in the first place, or did it shift?

Either way, it should've been done right the first time.

Nah, was getting an oil change and asked them to check it out while it was on a lift. I had my suspension and alignment work done elsewhere.
the person who did my susp/alignment agrees with the above poster that the eccentric bolts really won't ever look similar.

Back to the drawing board.

i'd say that the offset of the wheels are not similar for the rear....... Definitely a noticeable difference

they only come in one offset. The dtmrack diamond cut alufelgens don't come in m3 sizes.
