Must be a problem with the datens.

What datens are you using? I'd suggest maybe look for an older set and go from there.

Alternatively, look through the DAT files and identify the files which match your module HW-ID. Then manually flash with those numbers

Have you tried the Bimmergeeks downloads .
They have a Daten folder in there downloads in
addition to standard tools and Ista D.

at Bimmergeeks.net

I would just do the standard tools setup and see if that works
before even updating anything.

I've Downloaded the SP-datens, bmw tools, and ista D from bimmergeeks and set it up correctly to my knowledge. I was able to update most of the ecu's except those listed, the ones listed say they are current, but the last update for those was in 2006, how can there not be a update for the dme and egs since 2006?

If you have an 06 is it and early 328 build and not a 325?
The 325 has a different DME.

These updates in generally only have small modifications that are not
really noticeable for the most part.
If you really want something noticeable go to the engine sub forum
and look at a three stage intake with a tune.

The hardware on the FRM also changed people talk about updating
the FRM from a 2 to 3 all the time here because the newer hardware
supports more functions.

I believe there was hardware change to the transmissions to in the automatics but I don't know the details. 06 is different from 07 onwards
GM transmisson I believe.

So if they stop making the hardware I don't think they are going to do updates to firmware if there is no screaming defect in it.

Itís a 2007 bmw 328xi, production date 10/06

I just want to have everything updated, mainly the dme and egs.

How would I go about finding the hardware changes?

For the dme I canít even find ZBs with the same hardware ID, the EGS I found a few with more updated numbers but why donít they update in comfort mode in winkfp? Why does it say itís already updated?

Yeah, saved all that info as pdf.

What if I update a module with a zb with a different hardware number?
I have the find ecu software and when I look up each module with my current ZB number it provides me with the updated firmware ZB numbers but the hardware Numbers are different, will that cause a problem?

Thanks for the replyís

It shouldn't be, hw numbers often change but as long as that ZB number is qualified for that hw number then it's fine.

This should all be in the day files however. If you look in the daten HIS file it should say.
