ICOM is the official BMW coding head not the typical Dcan cable that most people use to code. The programs are usually the same but the Dcan cannot communicate with the radio properly.

The method of coding will be the same as with NcsExpert but with the ICOM Head instead of Dcan. You can google ICOM and see what they look like or I can take a picture of mine tonight.

I didn't realise you could buy a headhunt with bluetooth in. This seems much simpler than adding a bluetooth module and wiring it all in... I think..

Would this head unit work on my 06 car?

I can't see why it would not.

Does anyone know if this would work with a bmw usb hub? I have a hub laying around and a snap in adapter (eject box) so I started pondering.

A quick dumb question here... Can I use my old mic instead of install a new one? Like a plug and play and coding only. Or I have to wire somewhere through the old mic..I have a logic 7 with build in phone system. I have AUX but I don't have usb.

To be specific:
S639A Preparation f mobile phone cpl. USA/CDN S645A BMW US Radio
S663A Radio BMW Professional
S677A HiFi System Professional DSP
S693A Preparation BMW satellite radio
S694A Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer

Thanks!

your mic now wired to module in trunk
you need to wire it to radio
factory mic wire have disconnectable male/female joint in the passenger footwell, near door
you can buy shielded 3-wire, crimp 2 pins on both sides and then you can rewire this joint to radio

Did you mean I need to find out where is the wire in the glove box and clamp on the factory wire and disconnect the old one? You didn't mean that I need to go to the truck to find the module right? Can you show me the photo where it is actually locate at? I am assuming in the glove box fuse panel area not sure which part I should looking at.

Many thanks,

You mean after reset the module, there is no need for rewire? Just like the old phone bluetooth mic. Function as it used to be? To me it make more sense, since I already have the bluetooth for phone call.

Thanks,

Can you share the methods? Do you know how to do that? I would really like to know instead of change the wiring to the glove box.

I have bought the car radio built in bluetooth and the usb aux cable and the microphone cable , i have installed plug and play instead of my old car radio , I plugged the usb aux cable from the middle console same way of the handbrake , the microphone directly the wire from the car radio to the FZD (middle roof console)
After installation i got pairing the phone but german language, micro not working but i can received calls , usb not reading but 5v on the usb pins available, Aux working same as old car radio , I visited many dealer and all dealer they don’t believe i have the radio with built in bluetooth, last delaer he put the scanner for coding and after a moment the bluetooth and usb they have removed from my car radio , so now i want to recode to have bluetooth come back to the screen and usb , and start to resolve my old problem ( micro and usb )
So if you please guys someone could help me for exactly what i should code with my new cable step by step and these problem should resolved after coding?
My car production is 01/2008

Hey Jose,

Thanks very much for all the info. I had given up on getting OEM looking bluetooth until I accidentally stumbled upon your thread. Iv got it all working (bluetooth and USB) on my e92 but I have a question.

I have seen on the newer models with professional headunits that you can get enhanced bluetooth which allows the streaming of music over bluetooth. Does anyone know if it is possible to code this on for the e92? I believe the BMW option code is S6NKa and S6NLa.

Thanks again,

Marcos

edit: I should mention that the radio has part number: 61529343207 and has production date of 31/01/2014

As far as I have found, Streaming Bluetooth can only be done with CIC and Combox. I do not believe it can be done with standard radio Professional and Combox.
Someone tell me if I am wrong.
