Negative Battery disconnect question - Please help!

Hi, i'd appreciate someones help please!

I am in the process of vinyl wrapping all of my interior trim, I have been informed that when removing the Main Dash and Center Console Trims, I will have to disconnect some wires from these pieces of trim. e.g ignition etc. My question is:

Is it necessary to disconnect the negative cable of the battery before removing these trim pieces and disconnecting the wires which attach to them?

Thanks in advance guys!

Not at all.

Be gentle with the trims as whilst they're pretty strong if you're a bit hamfisted you can break the clips.

I had mine off this weekend to fish out a couple of coins that my 4 y/o decided to post down the vents. Just take your time the first time so you don't break anything
