[Help]Pairing the i-Drive with my Nokia 5800
Hi,
I've recently bought both Nokia 5800 and An BMW 320d E91 with i-Drive I've paired the phone using a 16 digit code (like say in manual for OBEX transfers) and using a 4 digit code... and at first it seems all Ok... i see my phone name on the display... and the network signal... when i try to phone someone... the network sign starts flashing... and the connection end.. i start to ear the music on speakers and have to turn the phone's mic on to be able to talk... and after that the phone doesent pairs with the car! it happend all the time... i can't have a full journey with the phone paired with the i-Drive.. does anyone know how to fix this?? Does it happened to some of you?? Regards Hugo |

I want to asume the network signal is strong? It is not dropping the call because you put the phone down and then there is interference from poor signal right?
OBEX seems more for ir applications. Can you turn if off and see what happens? My code was 5 digits or something like that, never 16 digits. |

They STILL haven't fixed that yet?
My N95 did the same thing. Check the Audio/Bluetooth section and find some of the threads on the other N-series nokias. There's some sort of patch that should work for the 5800 (it works on all the Symbian S60 Nokias)

I went to the Nokia website and Bluetooth on Wikipedia to do a little digging. Your phone is really new and includes Bluetooth 2.0. It allows several devices to connect to it at the same time. I can only find it is backward compatible with 1.2, but I'm not sure if that's as far down as it goes. My concern is that your car is an '05 with a lower spec. and that is causing the issue.
As such I would try deleting the car device from the phone and the phone device from the car. Then I would try starting the pairing using the car. Go to the car menu and start the pairing there. Hopefully the phone will be found and connect with the appropriate protocol. I couldn't find anything on a compatibility mode in the manual for your phone so let's hope this works... Anyways I hope the patch works!!!! Last edited by jzchen; 05-21-2009 at 01:13 PM.. Reason: Saw another post about the problem. |
