I have an xi with this noise. Uf i read correctly bmw updated the bushings? Can i get a part number for the rears and fronts? Thanks. Also any other bushing i should replace while under there?

Necropost, maybe... but would you believe this is about the only post I can find on *any* forum that discusses the new part number for the front sway bar bushing?

The P/N on realoem or bmwfans is the old part number. For some reason, neither one lists the updated part. It is, however, in SIB 310109 (dated 02/2009). 31306778064 for RWDs and 31306778066 for you xi guys. Reprinting here, so it can be found *somewhere* on the Internet...

SUBJECT  
Creaking or Groaning Noise During Compression and/or Rebound of Front Axle 

MODEL  
E82, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93 except M3 

SITUATION 
A grating or groaning noise is heard when the front axle compresses and/or rebounds. This may be heard particularly over speed bump-type surfaces. The noise normally occurs at lower outside temperatures. The noise may be less prevalent when the vehicle has been driven up to the operating temperature.

CORRECTION 
Replace the front sway bar bushings with the improved parts. Important: Only lubricate with water to assist in the installation of the new bushings.

Wow, thanks. I was thinking about replacing mine and this is a good find. Those part numbers aren't even listed in ANY application on RealOEM or etk.cc.
