Oh nice, now we're talking. 20 might not be too much actually, my front wheels are tucked.

Unfortunately that spacer would render my camber plates useless again. It' would rotate the camber plate 90 degrees, so they would turn into caster plates. I ended up sandwiching two reinforcement plates to get 6mm extra, which definitely helped, but it's still too low to make it over road debris/roadkill.

Anyone know of a coilover conversion kit for konis?

How much tread you have left on the studs from the strut mount?
Perhaps you can fit another reinforcement plate for total of 9mm
I you decide to part out I'm interested in your GC's

The nut thread barely makes full contact with the stud, so short of removing the washers there is no room (I have the original GC plate plus two other plates on)

just to clarify...on my coilover kit post. TCK does not offer a kit but does sell the majority of components of a kit. Springs, front lower threaded spring perch and rear ride height adjusters. I think the only thing you'd need in addition would be a front upper spring perch, which you could source from GC if necessary. Not sure if a conical spring like HR would fit the TCK lower perch or not.

Thanks. GC say they can send me a 60mm perch that will replace the oem style one I have currently.

Looks like the TCK front kit just fits right over the strut tube, but no preload adjuster which is kind of weird.

I've called the Ohio number for specifics on other parts. Pretty helpful if you need it.

If I got the TCK conversion kit new and used swift springs for 100 each pair, then the GC hat converter to 60mm ($75) plus some spanners it would end up being about $650 without shipping which is pretty pricey unfortunately. I'd rather put that 650 towards an LSD!

I think I'll have to try some custom materials to pad the springs with.

Also you can have a custom sleeve (metal ring) made out that will go on the bottom of the front strut preventing it from dropping all the way down, like 5 to 10mm sleeve.

Maybe in between the removable metal lower spring perch and the top of the strut housing?

I don't know how the GC plates look like when taken apart.
I was thinking of this:

Hmm that method might be difficult to reverse though.

I was thinking of popping off the silver part and putting in a spacer like so:

Please make sure that by doing so you will not destroy the strut.
The lower spring perch might also serve as strut cap/seal.
If not then you are correct. It will be very simple to add a spacer there.

The TCKline conversion kit says that the silver metal part is removable (only a press fit with those indentations), whereupon you would normally put their threaded coilover thing on top. The E46 GC kits have you do the same thing.

I have ordered e30 perches. I hope I'll get them in 3 weeks.

Now I have 0,5 fingergap on front axle and 1 fingergap on rear axle.

His isn't that bad! This is what my front looks like. (In my opinion, to be perfect ride height, front needs to go up 1/4" rear needs to go down 1/4"

Both are good, and about the same, one on 17" the other on 19" I think.
Here is mine on 18" and yellow bmw springs with sp perches on the front.
Not the best photo, but lower than Stream and little higher than SUHleen:
