My project

I got Iforge drift black. The only difference with mine compare to what I see from everyone else's is no rivets. For me the rivets looks like a bling bling machine, plus this looks a lot more smooth and easier to clean.

KW variant 2, read so many good review so I had to try them out. So far no complaints. Ran over a few bumps today at very high speed and the suspensions felt great.

For people who havent seen behind the radio

Look like they took everything.

This use to be a cup holder, now it's a CD player slot.

Just a few wiring.

Newly painted trims and relocated temperature control panel.

More trim

Please excuse the mess.

The monitor, the faceplate was custom fabricated

right view

Left view

center view

I included photos of the dash cause a lot of people are wonder how difficult it is to remove, you can see all the holes where the bolt goes.

Being resanded and buffed for getting rid of orange peel

showing the leather boot and shift knob.

The car is going to the paint shop now so I thought I take some pix that most don't get to see.

In the mean time more dissecting of the car.

Some parts I dyed black

Finish buffing and sanding the front hood, side fenders and doors. Just so you know they have not been clear coated yet or waxed but you can see the difference. The way to look at it is look at the reflection, no orange peel or ripple effect. Take that BMW!!!

I took the side trims off and will paint them
Here is what it looks like taken off, showing you the tabs that holds it.

Next I decided to make the car more clean by removing the sharkfin. I don't have stock navi, satelite radio, and sos. So this is not a big deal for me.
A lot of member have been wondering if we can get rid of the sharkfin? yes we can and this what it will look like and how to take it off.

The fin is connect to the hood by the same bondo that connects 335i emblem on the back of the car. So methods of taking the sharkfin is same as taking the emblem. In this case I used a small blade and just trimmed the bondo off. You can use the wire and goo gone if you want.

Ok the sharkfin was remove yesterday so today the holes were filled in
Bondo, and sand it smoothed

Turned out nicely. Just need to go into the body shop and get painted.

Now working on the front bumper, attached the grills to the bottom to show how it will turn out. It will be painted gloss black so it won't stand out as much as it is now with chrome.

Next will put slates in the middle and see how it turns out. Personally I like it without the center slates and have it empty like that, but might change my mind when I see it tomorrow put in. What do you guys think?

Thanks to the 360forge crew
Replaced all the oem speakers and started working on the trunk

Trunk is coming along, as soon as trunk system is ready to be taken out for painting widebody will be worked on.

Engine cabin pix

Front

Rear

DPE's came today.

My spare

Instead of using mud or clay we used strofoam.

Modding the hamann sideskirts.

Fiberglass the mold on to the sideskirt, just waiting for it to dry.

In the mean time went ahead and fitted the tires.
The pictures will show the tires are stretched a little too much therefore will probably go a little more wider, at the moment it's 305/25 probably will go either 315 or 325.

The rear bumper has been sent off to a professional who deals in molding, he will duplicate a rear bumper for me.

fitted the sideskirts on the car.
As you can see the fiberglass does not sit flush, so more body work will be needed, but things are coming along nicely.
The little vent opening actually open on accident and will be bondo shut.
The sideskirt will be molded on to the car.
oh yeah, decided to go with 325/25 now 305 was just not enough

Here's my steering wheel

Doesn't look too much different from yesterday but a lot of sanding, bondoing and duraglass today. Also finished the welding of the fender.

the side skirt are officially glued on, ready to be molded onto the car.

pix of hartge steering wheel installed

Factory rear bumper with hamann rear diffuser.

Molded a replica over the factory and got this.

Used the replica and fabricated this final piece, must be sanded and clean before leaving to body shop tomorrow.

Installed the subs

Just thinking

ah, installed my passenger door, there's goes 15hp down the drain.

This picture here shows you how many layers of coat bmw apply, it looks like 4 to me.

Just another coat of primer, looks like matte gray.

sorry not much of an update since I'm just waiting for items to arrive really. This week we just trying to come up a game plan on what the trunk should look like. Two options. 1st classy something more in the line of the car interior. Nothing so fancy. 2nd just full blown out, out of the top "wtf" throw in the kitchen sink scene. So we just been discussing what kind of game plan we looking at.

here's some items that been sitting in the shop for quite some time now, you can notice the dust it's collecting. sorry for bad pics, I suck at taking them and it's my phone.

as you can see not much to show, just right now we just debating on what material to use(carbon fiber, leather, fiberglass,...etc..??)

Infact we're going back and recutting everything you see in that wood panel, so it's going to be a do-over, but as you can see there's a "little" progress. we got one month to go, I am confident we can get it done. Just can't wait for some items to show up though.
