335i Car Production stopped??
Hello again guys...
I visited the local BMW dealer on previous Friday in regards to an oil service i needed to have to my 335i. While talking with my sales represenative he mentioned that now the delivery time for 335i in Europe is February 2008. A couple of hours later ,a guy who was willing to buy a 335i called me almost terrified to report me that his BMW dealer (different to my dealer) was giving him almost the same delivery time (Q1 2008) as BMW supposed to stopped the production of 335 models due to an important technical issue they are facing on 335i motors Do you also (the US guys) are facing a similar issue ? After reading latest RDSport's post ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=50621&page=10 ) I'm having some serious conserns that this may be true and not just rummors...

Maybe production problems with parts supplies.Well, atleast we have the warrantee. btw you must have trouble with grip on the roads where you live.I was driving my cousins rx8 in igoumenitsa and even that car had terrible grip during acceleration on the road.

I don't think so. It's just the backlog they have. Every dealer has a quote. When the car's are sold, they have to wait. When I bought my previous e46 M3 I had to wait more than 1 year for the car ... BTW, are car's still that expensive in Greek as they have been around 10 years ago ?

A few months back, I did hear that BMW was short on supply of some N54 parts and, needing to ramp up production of the 535i, were going to defer 335i builds. Of course, this would be yet more unsubstantiated info.

Thats what my dealer told me. BMW needs to build more 535 because it makes more money on the car but the N54 engine is almost non existant (sp)?

You just cant avoid it. Quote:
Just imagine that the basic version of 335i costs in Greece 62.000€ (approx 80.600 US$). The M3 E92 will cost almost 110.000US$ and the M6 costs 221.000 US$. Even though you can find plenty of them on the streets on the nights. Can you imagine what would happened if we had US prices over here?

I imagine they are using Regensburg's capacity to ramp up the E92 M3 and then the 2008 335xi's and any tooling adjustments needed for 2008 model years.
As you guys may recall Regensburg is where the 3 series are made and the 2007 is at the end of its model year.
