Beantown or bust

Hey guys...

I'm taking a trip back East for the weekend to see my Anaheim Angels play Boston next week. While I'm out there I'll also be stopping by my bro's place to check out his ironworks operation in New Hampshire.

Wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for places to to hit up while I'm there.

I've only been to New York when I've traveled back east so it's all new to me.

Thanks in Advance!

pop coldies with friends...

I'm going to the ball game at Fenway...

Any "must-see" sights before I split back on Monday?

I'm staying in downtown Boston and in Amherst, New Hampshire...which I've heard is like 30 mins. away.

I just want to know about a good restaurant or two, and a historical spot maybe to check.

Thanks everybody.

If you're staying in downtown, I'd really recommend taking a walk through the North End. It's little Italy...full of absolutely fantastic restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. It's one of the old areas of Boston, so you'll get a good feel for historic boston while you're there. The Old North Church is near there, as well...the one involved in Paul Revere's ride.

http://www.northendboston.com/

That website includes places to visit, maps, general info, etc.

Amherst is going to be closer to an hour away from Boston. It's literally nowheresville. The closest city is Nashua, and short of the mall shopping, there's nothing terribly intersting to see or do there.

Titania:

Thanks for the reply and the good info. I will definitely check out North End.

From what you posted; it sounds like it will have all of what I was looking to do in the short time I'll be there.

Thanks again! and just in time; I'm leaving on a red eye tonight!

You're welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay...pity the weather's so bad here right now. You'll have to come back and visit in May sometime.
