Replace TCU by MULF2 (coding)
Hi, I have replaced my TCU unit with MULF2 HIGH. I have removed $639 and added $644 $6FL in VO. I did reset KOMBI and now I do not get SOS errors. I tried resetting 2URAD (RAD2) but reset does not change anything. In radio I still see BMW assist icon and no Bluetooth icon, I see USB with 2 dashes:
If I try SG_CODIEREN 2URAD I get error: How do I reset and code radio to get bluetooth and remove BWM assist? Information: VO: Code:
E92_ #0909 &KASW %0300 *WB33 $1CA $205 $2MF $337 $403 $459 $481 $4B9 $507 $521 $522 $524 $534 $544 $563 $570 $5DS $644 $645 $655 $663 $697 $6FL $704 $715 $760 $775 $7XA $823 $840 $845 $850 $853 $876 $925 -B080 |

what year is your car?
If it's a pre 3/07 build the mulf module was not available in that year so the software will keep you form loading the 6fl option. You get around this by changing the production date of the car temporarily . http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1181654 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...5#post19088745 http://www.**************/showthread...ighlight=mulf2 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1344811 Also cars made past 3/07 may require icom cable to code most bus modules. |

You can use Inpa or Ista d to check the software level of
your car called the i-level then you have to find a chart that translates that to daten levels. You should have a daten level that goes past your current ilevel. With your year car there should be no issues with getting mulf software in. The Icom issue keeps coming up with Most Bus modules and there is no way I know of to defiantly know if you need it or not. Can anybody define when you need Icom and when you don't. Or how to get around it? https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...48&postcount=2 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...U3GajfRFIbW662 Recent post on here regarding mulf 2 hi seem to suggest you don't need icom . Wish there was a solid answer. TELD option removes bmw assist some say + Teld some say -Teld Last edited by ctuna; 02-20-2019 at 04:50 PM.. |

So for daten files my ilevel is: E89X-09-09-516
And I think I have datens from bimmergeek v49 Tried adding +TELD and -TELD after each tried to do SG_RESET adn no results. It seems that radio does not care what you put into VO. I think SG_RESET just restart radio so useless. In order to reset radio config I need to do SG_CODIEREN to reset to default, but getting that error: Any other ideas? I think I must do SG_CODIEREN to 2URAD the question is how to avoid that error. Should DCan cable 7 and 8 pins should be soldered? Do I need some kind of aditional settings in EDEIABAS.INI? USB cable has arrived! I inserted it and USB key with music, but on radio I still see USB with 2 dashes and when I click on them it still says "Insert".
Any one had such issue and solved it? For the Bluetooth it seems that I finally was able to reset MULF2HI to defaults with D-CAN cable. The secret is to code all car to default, not an individual ecu. In NCSExpert I did SG_CODIEREN to all car by selecting "process car". It still throws error, but seems to default ecus. But it does in that specific order which is in image: KOMBI, 2MULF and got error and it stopped. So it did not reset all modules (which is good because I dont want to restore all of them, but maybe not good because it did not reach 2URAD?..). I had KOMBI backup so I restored it. And now I see TELEPHONE option in radio (did not tested it though is it working correctly yet). So now the main issue is with USB. 2 dashes and says "Insert". Does not see USB key which I have inserted. Any ideas? |

What does your 2urad file say print it out.
Do you have the USB cable plugged directly into the Mulf. Also read out the contents of your Mulf2 Is your bluetooth phone working? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1181654 |

USB is working!
The issue was the cable... I bought 2 cables... The first I bought was: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aux-Switch-...72.m2749.l2649 Later I noticed that its not the one which fits into the center glove-box directly... so I bought second one. This cable has different pinout and USB does not work with this one! DO NOT BUY THIS CABLE! Even though its listed as E92 compatible... Second cable I boght was this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/AUX-USB-Soc...72.m2749.l2649 USB is working with this one! I paired phone with Bluetooth also, did not test calling but I guess it should work. I added AUX cable on MULF2 connector pins 4, 5, 22, and tested AUX its also working! So now I just need to move wires from trunk to center glove-box. Maybe there is a guide how to disassemble panels to pass wire to center glove-box? |
