Sat modules are a separate electronic module in most e90's
(all the US ones I know about)
you will not have one if it didn't come with it from the factory.
Cars up until 09 had pre wiring for optons. In the case of a Sat
module that meant antenna's and power a power cable and a
most bus cable running to the area where the sat module is
normally mounted.

If you have a 2010 or later car they stopped putting in the pre wiring
for those.

So buy this and code it in. You will also need a bracket and a few nuts.

Do you have to mess with any wiring ? Is it plug, code, subscribe and listen? I thought I previously read that you would need to move around some of the fiber optic cables ?(I can’t find where I read it)

Why didn't you read the two links in reply number 4
it's all there

The most hub is behind the US side driver rear passenger seat bolster
in most cars except the convertible.

Does anybody on here know how to code sirius xm? Bimmertech is offering an option to code sirius satellite into bmws, just looking for a cheaper route

Once you install the module and code it all you have to do
is call up Sirius and get a subscription I believe.
Code the module to your car change the vin in the module to your car
using tool32 then call them up and pay for the subscription.

The bimmertech solution does include a 1 year subscription don't
know what that costs.

Coding for sat is easy. Just add $655 to the vo and delete $694. Then factory code the head unit and the sat box.

If you have a 2006-2008 you have the needed wiring in the hatch for the tuner hardware. If you have a 2009 to 2011, you have all the needed hardware but need to activate it with a BMW FIC code.

I have a 2011 model so do I have to go to bmw dealership to get it activated or can you code it without having to go to the dealer?

Don't. In my opinion their programming isn't worth the money. Streaming service (pandora, spotify, amazon, etc.) and bluetooth is where it's at. I've been a Sirius XM customer twice and rarely ever used it. I will say that if you beat them to death on price, they will bend pretty quickly.

Even the LCI Professional radio can have the sat tuner built in. OP needs to purchase an FSC code and have someone code it to the radio.

Early CIC cars did not have a sat tuner built in.

My 2011 had it built in, just needed coding and a fsc.code, but I coded in enhanced bluetooth and just use streaming from YouTube, Amazon prime music etc. via bluetooth. I do have the SiriusXM streaming app and use that so I can go from one BMW to the other and not pay for an annual fee on both cars, and their streaming service is cheaper. I get all the Info on my CIC as to channel, artist and song.
