Hello guys ! Please recommend me a camera. I bought one from ebay, but the field of view and the quality are awful. I also cant remove the ugly guide lines that are build in the camera. Thanks !

Can’t get mine to work either with the pnp harness, but they have sent me a schematic which I just need to follow again, and check my wiring.

i have to say credit to the seller, they are very good at responding and appear very helpful.

Coded as first post but it’s not showing the pdc plan view only making the noise, and not switching to rear view camera. Others seem to have traced it down to the rear camera getting no power, so I just need to check my wiring again.

Do you know which line you used for the ACC to power the camera with the pnp harness?, (red wire from yellow male rca plug) the seller states it needs continuous power via ACC not switched only when in reverse, ie reverse light (which is what I have done).


Response from seller:
This emulator is support navi , vim and RVC, but the connection method is different from the camera emulator which has white line. It need connect camera 12v to car's ACC to get power

Can anyone give me details on the dynamic guide lines? Ive seen several cameras that show different style lines, Does it depend on the camera you purchase or the module/emulator you get? Also does the quality differ from camera to camera, anything Thas HD 720 or so? I'm looking to do this mod however id like to get as close to what an OEM would look like like replicating same I had on my F32. Also looks like others have also had the obstacle marking as well. Is the other option dependent on the coding or on the modules you purchase? Im definitely essayer top try this and put up my own analysis/post I'm justing hoping I can get it done well under $500 with trial and error comparing other camera or modules to get this to work the way I want it.

Sorry I just saw this!

I never got the PNP harness to work. I ended up buying a quadlock extension and splicing the emulator with the white wire in. The white wire is then spliced to the red power wire attached the yellow RCA connector.

Hello, does anyone know where to find a emulator that will
1. Work with retrofit cic that is hardware activated. (I don't need it to active anything cic wise)
2. Be able to work with a retrofitted manual transmission later on.
3. Be able to support PDC later on
4. Be able to support front camera and pdc later on (optional)
5. Have dynamic lines (optional)

I've been running the Carsystems emulator with the OP Autofocustech camera/handle for 3 years now and all is good. The box is a little bigger and more expensive, the wiring is a little more involved because you have to cut the CAN wires instead of just tapping them, and it takes much longer (sometimes a second or so) to activate, but it doesn't cause CAN bus trouble, the menus for contrast and lines work, and the dynamic lines work great. I expect that the much better firmware of this unit would be compatible with all the odd cars like stickshifts or Ewhatevers.

Varmin, the obstacles come from sonar which you don't have, and any lines built into the camera are just useless annoyances -- they need to be part of the emulator not the camera.

I'm installing my rear view camera and emulator right now and had a question.

I bought this camera:

and this emulator:

I spliced in the can-h and can-L, red, and black from the emulator as indicated in the wiring diagram here and the wiring diagram on the emulator ebay listing.
I'll join the white power line to the camera's red power line as soon as I go buy a longer run of red 22 gauge wire.

My question is involving the connector for the video line. I put the Yellow into the 21+ terminal and black into the 24- terminal for the female video connector.

The male video connector from the camera (shown in the ebay listing for the camera) has a red 30cm power line that suggests it is for the reverse light positive or DVD reverse testing line.

My question is this. If I have the emulator that supplies power to the camera from the white line, do I just connect that to the (1.8m) red line from the camera and cap off the 30cm red line from the male video connector? Or do I have to do a 3-way splice from the white power line, the 1.8m camera line, and the 30cm male video line?

The camera has red wire leads at each end of the run and you can use either one. It's the same wire so be sure to cap off whichever one you don't use.

If you can't figure out how to code, then Youtube it. So many videos that step you through it.

Check if there is power to the emulator and camera.

Thanks Vespa, I'll have to remove one of the connections. I ran the 1.8m line up to the front and then spliced the 30cm line to the white power line and tied it into the 1.8m line. So basically, I have power to the camera as well as one extra loop in that circuit.

I got the coding done and everything appears to be correct in CIC (vertical PDC and spot for image) but I am not getting an image so I have to troubleshoot the camera and the emulator.

The front red cable adjoined to the yellow RCA, I ran this to the white wire from the emulator for power. The rear red cable was tucked away and not used.

Ok that counts that out as the issue, everything else seems to be ok. I also now accepted I can’t get the pnp harness working either so I’ve just ordered the soldier in emulator now, hopefully that will just work!

Did you test the camera separately? I tested the camera against my TV with a 12V source and it verified the camera was working.

Anyone find an emulator with dynamic lines? I just need the camera emulator. Not all the other cic emulator stuff. I'm hardware activated on the cic.
