Help ! my front wheels / suspension is grinding HARD
So Ive been putting my 2008 BMW E90 back together after a front end accident. (I bought it as a salvage vehicle) I am mostly there, but both the lower front control arms are grinding on the inner side of the front wheels. The car still is in the driveway and not on the road yet. It seems that the whole front end is 'sagging' and I need to raise it up an inch or two.
Q: Is this accomplished by moving the shocks up in the spindle? Where is this adjustment made? Maybe I put the shocks in too low ? The spindle pinches the front shocks. How do I know when the front shock has been seated at the correct height in the spindle? Thanks!! |

Your struts should have a little wing/tab welded to them that's used as a guide as to how far into the spindle they're supposed to go. It's basically a flat piece of metal that stops the strut from going too far down during install.

Check to see if your Control Arms are upside down. When I did my m3 Control arm swap I accidentally installed one of the front lower arms upside down and it scraped the wheel barrel lol
