My car is on the platinum ray which departed 9/8, I am kind of surprised 2 ships heading to the west coast left so close to each other.

Do you know what the ETA for your ship docking in California is?

My CA told me mine is 10/5

According to BMW the Grand Venus is to arrive in Oxnard on October 11 although the Port Hueneme schedule hasn't been updated in over a week. San Diego shows an arrival on October 13 so maybe it goes to Port H first. My 2008 went to San Diego first. Anyway, I don't know but I'm guessing they are just dealing with a lot of cars as the dealers seem to be running a little low.

Cool cool, I really hope my car arrives on or before 10/5

This wait has been the worst of my life. I've been driving a "rent-a-wreck" since August 11th.

I know what you mean. I'm trying to time the selling of my 2008 335i so that I don't have to drive my 83 jeep too long. It's great off road but rather brutal for day to day transport.

I was looking around for more info on my ship and ran into this link in another thread - It shows you have a different arrival date.

For those of you following this ship, it is slightly south of the Azores heading for the Panama Canal. It should arrive there in approximately a week.

Which ship??? I'm confused, how could your ship which left after mine beat mine to Panama Canal!?

What website are you using to track the ship?

I keep going to marinetraffic.com and it says both of our ships are out of range

Ok, obviously I read your post too quickly, you said you expect your boat at the Panama Canal within 1 week.

Which should put mine there any day now. Here is hoping

This website doesn't give you as much current info as some of the others but it does show arrival dates at the next port. It looks like you should be through the canal and at a Mexican port by 9-25. I didn't even know they stopped on the Mexican coast. That would seem to imply that your ship is at or near the canal right now. There isn't much info available between the Azores and the canal unless the ship voluntarily calls in.

fthrower, where in SoCal do you live? If we are close we should meet when our fresh new rides are here. I see you got a 335is. Nice!

I'm in Cherry Valley (Riverside Co). Is that close to you? Is your 335 a 2011 or 2012? I have a 2008 335 and love it. I haven't decided what to do with it yet - hoping a family member may want it - still in excellent shape. BTW, the Hueneme schedule isn't posted yet but a phone call revealed that my ride will, in fact, arrive 10-11. As long as I was on the line, I asked about the Platinum Ray and they have it slated for 10-5, your original date.

I live in Santa Monica.

Since my car is an E90 and they aren't doing E90 2012, it's a 2011.95

You don't happen to know anything about performance parts installed at VPC, do you?

I posted a separate thread about it.

Lastly, who/what phone number did you call for that shipping info?

Thanks!

Oh - okay - I think you're smart getting the 2011. I know people have different experiences but buying first year vehicles has been a nightmare for me.

I know nothing about installations at VPC - What are they installing? exhaust?

I called 805.488.3677 - The woman who answered had the schedule right in front of her. I wouldn't have called but it has been a LONG time (9-8) since they posted the schedule. This schedule is the best source of information for arrival dates.

The schedule link is on this page - http://www.portofhueneme.org/home.php

Yeah I was thinking of getting the PE exhaust installed at VPC, but my CA is telling me they want to charge me for labor, I think he's wrong, but I really don't feel like arguing. Also it would just be an excuse to delay my car getting to me by a few more days and I'm not interested in that so I dropped the idea.

10/5 can't come soon enough. My rent-a-wreck is killing me on the inside.

Good Show! And now I know Manzanillo is the one in Panama and not Mexico. That makes more sense. Panama has a few video cameras set up so you might be able to see your ship in a few hours.

Hey PKL - U may have seen this but just in case you haven't, it really gives you an idea of the day by day positions of the ships coming to Port H.
