Lets just say I work part time at the mall. Have my own place, pay for my own BMW, can afford to mod her, pay my own credit cards (all three), gas, food, utilities, and have picked up a new hobby snowboarding (not cheap) all with being able to put 15% of my check into savings which is now resting at $2,610.93 where I never had a savings before I started interviewing. Doing pretty good for just being 21.

I'm going to agree with the Advan RS, and Sara, those wheels are just about the same amount you have in your savings.

Not bad. However, I'd kill those credit card balances before spending money on mods, etc. Sounds like a case of "I can afford the payments." I know, I was there at your age. It took some hard work (and a little luck) to get out from the credit card debt (which topped out around $13,000.....)

But, your money, spend it how you want. Just trying to share a little experience.....

Don't forget the center cap adapter rings ($225 or so)! Unless of course, you like the "rusty-hub-I-just-came-from-the-track" look. I painted mine with caliper paint before I got the adapter rings. They took a few months to come in, since the US distributor was out.

Good info

I didn't realize the center caps had to be adapted to the Advans.

Yeah, kind of funny they have larger diameter holes. They are 73mm holes, and the OEM center caps are like 70/71mm. Some aftermarket wheels have 68mm holes (or something like that), so they won't work on the Advan adapter rings, only OEM size caps fit the rings.

Also, the rings only come in polished aluminum, so I had to paint them to match my Dark Gunmetallic wheels. I found that "GM Dark Spiral Grey Metallic" from Duplicolor was a very close match and available in a small rattlecan from Schuck's. Scuffed them, taped and sprayed them, and they came out looking great.

Well, that was my total debt graduating from college (no student loans at all), so I was still better off than many. But, it gets up there in a hurry when you think "I can afford the payment!" Back then, they were handing out credit cards to college freshmen like candy. I had an AMEX Gold card too that I was running $1k a month on as well. That is probably why I had lower grades, I was working too much to pay for stuff.

I haven't carried a credit card balance for 10 years now, other than specifically planned 0% interest deals. Not planning to either!
