I figured I'd bump this an add that these tires are pretty damn good in the snow. I put them on my e46 330ci and had a chance to really test them. They do well in everything but solid ice. Of course, in heavier snow it has a more difficult time, but u can manage some hills as long as u have momentum.

here is the vid i created. Excuse the ghettoness, I filmed and edited it myself, lol.

oh and if u hate techno, just mute it, lol.

After a few hundred miles I find my DWS are grippier.

It's good to know that I didn't miss much not going with the higher priced Mich tires.
Nah the michelins were definitely better in the wet. It was like being on RAILS...they were amazing. I drove just like I was in the dry, and with the DWS, I have to take it a little easier. It COULD have something to do with the fact that the Michelins were on my old car (e90 330) and the Contis are on my new car (e90 335) but theres a definite difference. Still though...I much prefer the DWS.

Check your tire pressure and then check your suspension. I have 15,000 miles on mine now and I've had no such experience. In fact, I'm still amazed how quiet they are this long into their tread life.

I'd love to hear some stories of how good these tires are in the snow.

I had these on my last car, a 06 TL. They worked well but the car did seem to want to wander at speed and they do have soft sidewalls. The car would roll a bit before it would grab. In the snow they were pretty good, i never did get stuck. But before the Acura i had a bunch of trucks so its hard to compare.

Can someone tell me about the cornering of this tire... I'd be going from ContiExtreme3 to DWS... so i do expect DWS to be somewhat softer but I dont want to buy very spongy tires... you know what i mean.

I appreciate everyone's input.

had no problems doing ~50 in a 25mph curve with these tires. car actually slowed itself down, but i never lost traction.

I had cruise set at 50 and went into the curve. car slowed itself down a bit but went back up to 50 after the road straightened out. then of course i had to pull over soon after cuz there was a cop car after the curve that lasered me.

So I keep getting conflicting reviews of these tires in terms of sidewall flex/stability vs the Pilot Sport A/S. I am currently trying to decide between the Pilot A/S and the DWS, and my focus is more on dry handling and steering response. Seems like the DWS get the nod in wet, snow, and comfort, while the Pilot A/S handle better in the dry with greater responsiveness. Is this the consensus?

I have a set of these for sale if anyone is interested. I had them on an M3, but its since been turned into a dedicated track car and they are now sitting in storage. They have roughly 1000 miles on them and still look brand spanking new.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the original listing on this site. Will part with them for 550 shipped.

4 Almost new tires. Great all season tire. > 1000 miles on them.

255/40/18
275/40/18

Best Offer. Retail is 190+ a tire. Free Shipping.

I'm planning on ordering a set of these anyday now. I love the DW, but the DWS win mainly for treadwear reasons....slightly cheaper too.

I was looking at the Michelins as well.....funny because that was the number one tire I was comparing these to.

The one thing about the Michelins vs. these is that it looks like you can rotate the Michelins (side to side)....but not the Continentals.

Getting the dws installed as we speak. I figure I need higher tire pressure now. 2 or 3 psi more sound about right?
