Adding USB to E91 (2011)
Hi All
I have a friend of a friend who's asked me to do him a favour and code USB to his 2011 E91 320d (UK). I've looked up his VIN and he has the following equipment as standard that seemed relevant.
He's also purchased a USB/Aux adaptor and cable (pictured below) before I was asked to help with the coding. With what he has standard and what he's bought, is this a simple VO/coding job? If so, what do I need to add to the VO, etc to get this working? Any assistance is very much appreciated. I've done a little basic coding, but this one is new for me.

you need to check if he has module in the trunk under cental cover, behind backrest
after that you can code 6FL option to headunit and that module

Thank you for your answer. Do you know what the module is called? I'm going to have to describe it to him as he's a little way from me.

Has to be a Mulf 2 hi or combox for usb.
Any coder that knows what he is doing will know this. You may need an icom a cable for the coding to work on this. |

Long shot. Pull the radio and see if the radio has a plug for the USB cable shown above. I have seen a few European radios that had built in USB.
If not, I assume there is no i-drive so you can't go combox. Mulf2 HI could be added to the trunk using the TCU pre-wiring. Just snip of the plastic blocking it from plugging it in. You will need to also run aux wiring into the MULF. I would just leave the USB in the trunk and use a tune2air for BT audio. The USB wire above is not long enough to go from arm rest to trunk. Mulf can also support BT phone if you add the mic and bt antenna. https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-WMA3000...s=bmw+tune2air |

Thanks for the help so far, I'll get a photo of what's under the cover in the boot (sorry, trunk for my American friends).
