Possible Disa Failure?
2009 328ix N51 75,XXX miles, so I already have the 3 stage intake manifold. I've been chasing a engine hesitation in the 2-5000 rpms and the occasional jumping idle for months now. ZERO CODES... Plugs, coils have been replaced. 2 dealerships and 3 other mechanics have all looked at it, run diagnostics and no one has any idea. I just unplugged the large disa valve on the outside and the symptoms pretty much stayed the same. Maybe a little more hesitation going through the rpm band if any. I've tried to listen to it, but there is so much damn ticking noise that I can't tell if it's coming from either of the disa valves or somewhere else. I'm going to pull it out this weekend, but does anyone have any input, ideas experience???

Im going through the same thing. Try getting your DME scanned, a regular OBD2 won't do it.

I have not yet. However, I did the charcoal delete yesterday and have noticed that it seems to be better. Different passengers have noticed that the stuttering/hesitation is better as well. It is however, still present...

I finally got a hit on the carly app.
0. Motor Control: <---------------------------> Engine / Motor: - Fault: Variable suction control motor: Control - Code: 002AA8 A quick google search under 002AA8 BMW is saying disa. Since I'm a sulev, this should be under their "special" warranty. I'll be calling the dealership tomorrow. I'll post back when I have more information. |
