Any Euro only parts worth picking up while in the EU?

The last time I went to the EU I picked up $400 euro Headlights for my E36 for 80 euros at a junkyard. I assume Europe got some cool bits for the E90 that I could grab for cheap over there. I am planning to get a euro airbox but I can't find anything else. Any thoughts?

I would think the non adaptive xenon headlights would be pretty valuable. They're quite expensive.

People seem to like the headlight switches with the rear fog light button too.

I got my headlights used from Germany. They weren't really cheap. I paid $700/800 don't remember. It was 4 year ago. Non adaptive with clear corner lens instead of amber. I had to code out the adaptive feature because of the error but they look so much better. I have to bring front door card from UK now, so both will be same. That would be cool I think.

If your ride didn't come with the tool kit, hazard sign, first aid kit, etc., you may want to pick those up.

Great point. I only have the small tool kit next to the battery.

I am very happy with the light output of my headlights and will not be replacing them.

Guys, as someone that lives here I can tell you that it is very rare to find e9x or e8x models in any salvage yard here so, best of luck. Also companies like ECS offer many of the parts at lower prices than many of the local dealers can provide. Just a thought.

This is true. Outside of Eastern Europe people tend to drive current generation BMWs & Mercs. Noticed this when I was in London, Paris and Berlin.

Even taxi cabs are like brand new E classes. I think we were told it has to do with the European vehicle registration laws. So after 3 to 5 years you have to register a new car for certain livery licenses, or corporate fleet vehicles, etc...

Outside of the cities you may find a stray E90 or E46 in the country sides.

I went to a schrottplatz 45 minutes outside of Frankfurt when I got my E36 headlights. There was at least 20 of them in the yard.

This time I want to got to a yard 10 minutes away from the BMW museum. You would have to believe the entirety of Munich drives a BMW like how Detroit drives GM cars.

https://www.auto-kesslinger.de/bc/

I went on ebay.de and a used airbox runs around 100 euro. That is a lot cheaper than buying a new one for ECS for $500.

If I get a euro light switch can I code in rear fog lamps?

eBay.de is a different topic all together. Yes, e90 stuff cheap. But many of those sellers will ship stateside if you just ask. The euro light switch is plug and play, no coding needed.

Look for anything Individual spec - especially trim off of the Alpinas. It's pure unobtanium on this side of the pond...

Lets say I buy some parts off ebay.de and have them shipped to the hotel, How long would that take if they are within a two hour drive?

What would you call the air intake box in German?

Good luck with that. Most sellers need a confirmed address. I typically check real oem and search for the part number on liebmann.de for the translation.

I went searching on ebay.de and I found some bits. Is the euro box even worth $150 euros? Is doesn't really add anything to the car. The light switch I am 100% getting as they are cheap and add functionality.

Yes, the euro box lets the car breath easier. It improved the gas mileage on my wife's 328i and feels a bit quicker.

Huge shout out to Quarrymotors on eBay. I bought a euro only bluetooth, USB, aux, radio and a euro headlight switch. He is holding them for me until I can pick them up at a "Click and collect" place 0.3 miles from my hotel.
