Need some basic coding done. Can anyone do me a favour?
Hi GUys,
Was good seeing quite a few of you at the meet today. I am looking to have some basic coding done for my lighting. I want to up the Voltage of my DRL. When the DRLs are on as normal, i want them to be at 13V and when they are on 'side lights' i would like them operating at 12V. As i understand, as stock they run at 12V as DRLs and 9V as sidelights. Is that correct? Ideally, i would love this done this week if someone could assist? Beer and food on me if it can be done this week Cheers Andre |

Hi Andre, great to see you today, car looking awesome as always. I can't confirm the numbers, but my DRLs definitely dim when they are on as sidelights.
There is an option which I haven't fully tested on BMWhat which can be coded, to disable the dimming of the halos when set to sidelights. Would love to help out but am a bit out of your way.. I'm sure you'll find somebody with the app or better still closer to you |

There's loads of brightness settings on BMWhat app for the DRL's. They range from 'very dim' to 'very bright' (there's about 6 different settings in between) be careful with LED's though. They seem to be a little more fragile than a standard incandescent bulb to higher voltages. I've set mine to 'bright' instead of 'very bright' and they've been perfect. Don't know about the voltage differences, but there is a considerable difference in brightness from low to high. I turned my DRL's down to a low setting on sidelights as they were pissing off oncoming drivers.

Anyone in the London vicinity that has a bmw what app with the wired connection as mine doesn't work with wireless.
Was great seeing you today @ess matey!!! Pacman83 mine are rated to work well up to 14V and i've tested them at 13,4V for a week constantly without failure. |
