Oem absorbers

Hi guys, are Sachs absorbers the recognised brand for these cars ? If it was an original absorber from BMW, it cant be Sachs, right ?

Also, would be grateful if i was shown how to differentiate an original BMW from Sachs. Or are these both the same ?

It depends. My understanding is that Sachs was the OEM for the early models and then BMW switched to Bilstein. They're both reputable brands and both will work equally well on these cars.

Both are good. Between Sachs and Bilstein (B4) I personally prefer Bilstein B4.

Here is a link that came up during a recent discussion. One member cut open the factory strut and shock to show what are inside. I am not sure what brand these are (BMW just put stickers on, they do not make struts and shocks themselves).

I see. So i cant go wrong with a Sach. Mine is a 2007 110k mileage, i think that the previous owner did not care to change the front absorbers. Still Sachs at the front.
Thank you.

Thanks mate for clearing some doubts of mine. So, there are no markings orher than the stickers. That was baffling me, i was thinking that what i saw here could be a knock out brand.

Really appreciate the llink. 👍👍
