GTECH PRO RR for sale
Measures 0-60, HP, RPM, ect, ect
More info here http://www.gtechpro.com/rr.html I am after £175 posted, any takers before I stick it on ebay PLEASE NOTE the RPM funtion will not work on the E9x series, as BMW have filtered the 12V supply. There are work arounds. But to be honest, I never bothered as the rest of the funtions work no problem |

The RR allows you to see all the graphs on your PC, which is very useful. Not only does the RR model come with the data cable, it also has the data RS232 plug on the back of it. without it, you have no chance of getting the data to your PC

You can, but you cant compare one run to another, Im not saying the SS is bad. Just the RR is a lot more advanced. All depends what you want. I find it acurate enough, as long as you set it up correctly

I`ve had the RR version for 2 yrs now. At Santa Pod it was 2/100ths out. If I`d measured how far I was staged and set the G-tech to the same I`m certain it would`ve been 100% accurate.

Most people ditch the mains plug it comes with, when sent to Europe, as they are all 110V. I used my 12V correct polarity power supply for one of my portable hard drives.

does not mean the road the other side of the country is level and comparable. Thats why i aint overly keen on these things. Good for comparing cars on the same stretch of road though.

All said, one could say its a little naughty anyway, because basically the end result is going to be people drag racing up and down quiet public roads to see how fast they are. Maybe 1 in 20 of us can say they own enough straight road to consider it a viable option for testing anything other than perhaps 0-60, which means everyone else that uses these things does so on highways. It also stands to reason that they are pointless when taken to the pod - except to record your runs over and over and download for comparison. In that case if you take the time by the official equipment into account in every comparison, then you will see the benefits of such a device. I am all for a spirited drive, but some things you have to draw the line at on proper roads! Matt |

As it records info is that not a risk if you were involved in an accident and the police found the equipment and see that you could have potentially been street racing etc?

There are a lot of laws about how data is handled by the Police, interpreted, and interrogated. There is an equally high chance a good solicitor could get it thrown out of court. In effect, if you hit someone and they charged you with dangerous driving and you plead guilty - I doubt they would push further. If you kill someone and claim that you were driving normally to try and hide the truth whilst they want to charge you for causing death by dangerous driving, expect them to push for everything they can although as I said, your solicitor could probably get it thrown out because it was tampered, inconclusive, etc. If the copper so much as touches it, then its already a bad omen for them... It may not be accurate data.... If it wasnt handled/disconnected correctly then it may be corrupt etc... There is a good chance they could get more information from the ECU anyway. Matt |

I agree Carl, the only thing that lets it down is that it doesn`t record change in Altitude (VBox and higher end Data Loggers do) but at the price of the G-tech you can`t grumble and if your using the same test strip each time, it shows what effect any mods have had.
