That is unacceptable. If they couldn't carry out the work why did they start on it and then lose bits.
Makes you wonder what else they have tampered with and not refitted!
I trust you will be booking it in elsewhere if you really can't be arsed to fit the radiator yourself.

Yeah am very disappointed, that garage has been there since the sixties, both my Grandad & Dad used to have their cars looked after there.

The son runs it now, seemed like a good guy when I meet him, he has had a modded e92 335i, a m235i & currently an m4 so I assumed that he was into bms & they'd be a good place to get work done as the guys that normally look after the 335i are 7 miles away & I thought that if I used this place it'd be a nice walk home & back with the dog whilst leaving the car to have work done. Anyways it's booked in with my usual guys for next Friday £150.

Having had a quick look at some fitting guides it looks like a fair bit of work to do it myself, I suspect it's take me most of a day and I would most likely fuk something up trying

Fitted one of the new Ate discs this evening, they look & feel like better quality than the Pagid & Brembos that I've previously fitted.
Have decided to not use ceramic pads this time, so I thought I'd just put some Brembo pads in it, only £60 it's been an expensive four months.

Rad swap is quite easy to be fair, I took mine out when I fitted my hybrids and the hardest part was removing the intercooler and fan!

Grrr...angry, started 're-fitting the drivers side caliper only to find the top guide pin wouldn't tighten up. I took the caliper carrier back off to find that the thread is fuked as it's only me that changes the pads & discs it would seem that I've somehow managed to strip the thread

I have started a thread asking if anyone has one that they'd sell me but thought I'd ask here as well in the hope that someone's done a big brake upgrade & still has a carrier & is willing to help me out by selling it to me.

All fixed & back together now, £22 for the Sealey thread repair kit & the caliper carrier has been re-threaded by the apprentice in the engineering place next door to where I work for free and he made a very nice job of it.

The new Ate discs have fixed the shuddering steering wheel under braking & although I've only done around 30 miles bedding them in tonight, the new Brembo pads were starting to feel pretty good by the time I arrived home

I guess they didn't bother to bleed the system either...

My E92 averages $100 a month to keep on the road, my old E46 was the same. After three years in it, I'm simply replacing plastic and rubber bits as they wear out.

Cheaper than last year and all mods declared. Specialist policy via Sterling / Adrian Flux.

a lot of time, stress, tears and skimmed knuckles is changing the above gaskets.

I spent £550 during August on the 35i;
Hella rad & fitting
BMW coolant
Ate front discs
Brembo front pads
Sealy thread repair kit
One new caliper bolt/slide pin

No expenses during September...so far.
The cars running very nicely now, brakes are all bedded in, no more steering wheel judder under braking.
The Brembos pads are good, better than the ceramics at low speeds but they are not as good from very high speed braking as the ceramics, as I found out last weekend the smell of burnt friction material was strong.

About $700 to the dealer for a oil/filter change, brake fluid change and a diff oil change (that I didn't need; forgot I did it already, LOL!) when I had the blower wiring recall done a couple of weeks ago. Otherwise, just gas $.

It's the dealer (what do you expect?) and it was actually under $700 (I rounded up for effect). LOL!

I didn't feel so bad about it because I was able to rent a Tesla Model S for an extra $40 as a service loaner. It normally rents for around $150/day (including fees, etc). So, I think it was a wash as far as the cost was concerned.

I haven't gone to the dealer except to get the recalls done (airbag and blower motor). Usually get all of my maintenance/repair work done at my indie shop. Just let the dealer to do the fluid changes because I didn't want to bother going to my indie shop right after going to the dealer.

The indie would have charged me about $400 to to the oil/brake fluid changes and I didn't even need the diff change (my fault for not remembering that I already did it). So, I didn't feel "robbed" by the dealer.

I've got more $ and sense anyway and it really doesn't matter. I've wasted much more $ on other things. Like the roughly $15k that I've already paid servicing/modifying my 335i over the past 6 years. Check my Build Thread out for the details

You should also note that I've got 6 vehicles and my newest one - the 2000 Porsche Carerra 4 Cabriolet - is the newest $ pit.

The extra $200 or so that I paid for the fluid changes at the dealer (which was my fault not theirs) is a drop in the bucket compared to the $ that I am going to have to pay for the anticipated repairs that I need to bring that car "up to snuff", even before I add in the $ that I have to spend on some mods that I already want to add to it.

So, $700? That ain't nothing in the bigger scheme of things.

£42.79 for an alternator regulator.

Took annoyingly long to diagnose, but certainly considerably cheaper than "firing the parts cannon" and just changing the alternator!!

As an aside, i am now quite well versed in the e90's Bus and Voltage systems, and considerably more adept at using a multimeter
