e91 3 series pre-lci wagon m sport Rear bumper group buy interest?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hi all, I am in the early process of linking up with an aeronautical engineer who wants to get into designing car parts, body kits, etc. And since he has some good experience I figured I'd have him design some reps. Based on my own knowledge I have realized this may be a big want for alot of people in the USA, I know I had a hard time finding anything other than oem in the states. I'm highly considering getting everything together and hosting a group buy. But in order to do that I needed to figure out what the interest level in this may be. How many people would have an interest in a group buy? The more information I have, the sooner I can come back and provide people with production could begin.

EDIT: this will be a pre-lci and lci compatible after further research. The only difference will be the twin/single exhaust cutouts

I'd be in for a pre-LCI for sure!

This is what you want: 51127907255. Pricing is not as terrible as I thought. Why reinvent the wheel?

Plus OEM actually adds a little value in my book. But still expensive, if a quality rep could be had in the $300 range I would be down, but much more and I'd probably just go OEM.

While I agree, the problem is that the demand is not high enough for a mold to make poly bumpers at $300 each. And any other material it could be typically made with is simply inferior. The P65 sucks ass, you're absolutely right. I'm thinking the only other option is plastic weld half of one bumper to another bumper (like my M3 one) but the fabrication labor won't be pretty. Tough spot for sure. I had a similar problem getting an E46 M3 M Tech II rear bumper. I swallowed the pill eventually and just bought it from my dealer.

I followed your build closely, especially the bumper graft... It was amazing, the results were awesome, I applaud the ingenuity and know-how but probably not cost-effective.

I agree, especially since North America brought so few wagons in, it just doesn't make sense. Ther aren't much more than a couple thousand e91's period in NA... and out of those, I bet less than 1% would actually do the mod, so yeah...

Guess I just need to bite the bullet... My nose just got some rock chips recently so I guess a full m sport is in the books, OEM just seems a hard pill to swallow 2K for some plastic, but in the end, it's probably money well spent on a wagon.

I've legitimately been considering an m4 style rear bumper instead, i feel its a bit more aggressive looking.

Thoughts?

I'd definitely be interested. Been trying to find an m sport rear bumper for my n54 swapped e91 wagon for a while now. Otherwise I can't run the stock 335i exhaust lol

Reviving this. PM me if you're interested in a group buy for the E91 m-sport rear bumper. I'm guessing if we can find 10 people, we could get something done...
