Bluetooth Echo with MS-8

I've got the hi fi stereo in my 1.

Used technics adapter to wire up my MS-8, so the line level inputs for the unit.

The sound improvement in the audio is adequate for me.

However, I've now gotten an echo in my blue tooth.

I can't hear it, but the caller on the other end can. It's not absolutely all the time, but nearly every call my wife says.

I searched, and saw some posts on it and tried to read through the 180 pg thread on diyma but after about 10 pages from 130 where it seemed first mentioned i gave up...

Wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and found a fix.

Thanks

Joe

No just MS-8 to stock speakers.

I skipped the initial 50 click volume calibration and run the MS-8 at -20db.

You cannot skip the input calibration with the Stereo system... run input setup and then calibrate between -20db and -25dB. Report back...

when i tried this the first four times, sound quality was poor.

then i read this and ended up with good sound.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=118

but the BT echo. I have the HI FI (non logic headunit, so i should have the balanced inputs. I skipped the input sensitivity selection or whatever, but did do the calibration as per the manual. I did calibrate at -20db.

It seemed ok initially but has been worse lately. Been in car for about 2 mo.

Or right after the hi fi harnesses shipped.

Sorry, the non-mention of the HiFi threw me off.

Try calibrating at -30dB. Also, do not use Logic7 processing if there is no center channel in your setup.

In my testing turning off the processing completely removes any echo.

We did a 335d recently with HK, added MS8 to OEM speakers, and had an amp on the underseats and the trunk sub. We tested for echo by calling the vehicle owner. HE heard it, he deemed it not bad at all and not objectionable.

I usually calibrate at -40 JBL says if you can feel the sub, it's too loud for calibration, BTW.

I suggest turning L7 off if you DON'T HAVE REAR SPEAKERS and using it IF YOU DO. The level setting algorithm is designed to match the levels of the front, center, rear and side speakers and to set the subwoofer level about 3dB louder than I like it. That means that when you turn off L7, you'll have to adjust the fader toward the front if you want front stage and a little sound from the rear without L7.

For those of us IASCA peeps who are used to front with no rear, the rears will sound too loud without L7, but to a non-competitor who likes to have sound from everywhere (my dad), this will sound great. For those super-technical bonus-point-scooping competitors, adjusting the fader a few notches to the front ought to be a pretty simple adjustment, but it sounds better with L7, so why not just turn it on?
Also, for what it's worth I also have echo and am running on MS-8 power. I haven't had time to troubleshoot though.

Andy loves Logic 7. I am also in the camp that says that if there isn't a center, L7 isn't helping much. BMW rears don't seen loud either way, so his comment seems aimed at cars with larger, louder rear speakers. And since L7 seems to make the echo appear and disappear, it should be one of the first things you test, I would think...

I haven't heard it for myself, but according to my wife the echo is eliminated after turning off Logic 7. I guess I misunderstood VP when he suggested turning off "processing". I thought he ment the actual Processing option which would basically bypass the MS-8. Obviously that would not be an acceptable solution.
