Bluebat Vinyl Overlays Completed w/ Pics (56k Warning)
Alright Everybody. Its official. Bluebat finally put the pictures up on his website and here are all the finished products. Feel free to email him at bluebatmobile@san.rr.com to order them if you already haven't.
Roof Overlay: Headlight Overlay: Full Smoke Taillight Overlays: Taillight Reverse light Cutout overlay: Smoked out Reverse light: Smoked out Side Marker Overlay: I've been rolling with these overlays for a few months now and they really are great. And I personally think they are better than other overlays i saw while cruising around (like at the MOM meet for example) And if anybody has any other ideas for overlays just let us know and we'll see what we can do. (All the overlays can also be double layered for that extra dark look) |

Just ordered the front light amber covers in the 6/10 (driving E90 spark graph w/ new OEM rear spoiler and tinted windows in 35%).
Will have hubbie DIY (crossing fingers). Will report back and will try to add a pic if I can figure out how to do it!! I guess photo bucket. I just hate the amber and to change the entire light system is $$ (as you know!). Price is a STEAL, figure nothing to lose. Saw some on Ebay for about the same price (speaking of the front light amber covers). Guy has poor feeback (assume hard to attach these suckers). Bluebats also were shaped a bit nicer IMO. Small difference but againg, BB's were more sleaker (thinner). Looked better. Hope to have hubbie put them on same week they arrive. Shipping accross USA so may take a bit for arrival (CA to MD). Would love any tips also that anyone has from applying them...... Last edited by Cinnamon; 08-04-2008 at 07:35 PM.. |

I emailed him about them. I'm thinking of doing the roof overlay , but I'm also going to need CF shakfin cover because the red will look retarded with a black roof.

Is that a carbon fiber roof overlay? I cant really tell cause that car is so damn shiny! Im liking the smoked tailights with the cutout for the reverse light.

See if he can send yours not rolled up? Mine were rolled up (tube like) and got smashed (flattened) on the trip from CA to MD. I am laying some books over them to flatten them back out. I think they will be ok-I will know tomorrow. May not be a big deal once they are on..... I guess I thought they would be taped/between two pieces of cardboard....
Anyway--if I can get the hubbie to do it tonight I will post but I doubt he will want to apply them tonight. He had a very long day. I am tempted to try myself but worried since they have creases in them from being mailed. Either way...check back! Chances are tomorrow (Saturday).....but maybe if I give hubbie a cold beer and a wink. Saturday will be most likely.

COULDNT wait!!!! AND now I get the beer!
The first one was tricky --I had NO IDEA how to put it on as far as lining it up. .....I ended up wrapping the vinal slightly around the lights. I think that is right (like a quarter inch)? Anyway--that soap and water helps a LOT! Lifted it up a few times.....the second one when on much faster since I knew "what to do". Credit card with a nice SOFT cloth worked great for getting the vinal to go around the light sides. I was afraid to use a blow dryer since some guy said he melted his vinal once (read it somewhere here...???). The hot summer sun worked fine for me. Enjoy the pics. For the price I think it is worth it. Replacing the lights is way too much $$ for me!! Nice alternative. Pics are going to be "before" then "after". I got the darker ones 6/10. The sun is going down here in the MD area so you can see that they look different in the bright, setting sun vs. the darker garage. Enjoy! Hour and 15 to install.....my back hurts....

BTW--if you think I did a bad job--don't tell me!! Girls cry, ya know.
6/10 is the darker ones and you can see when the sun shines on it the color looks much different than in the "dark" garage.

Thanks E90Phan....I was hoping you would think so!
Hope they hold up but even if they don't, it was a small price tag for the fun change to the car! I almost with with just the "eyelids" painted to match my car, however, they don't cover the amber on the bottom of the lights. I wanted to "erase" the amber. WORKED WELL! When putting on the films you have several options as far as how you want to line the vinal up. I ran in and peaked at the first set of photos put up by T7R Sky because I was confused (unsure) how to line them up. I think they look close to the first posted set, but just so you all know, there is a bit of play room for how far out you want the front end sections to jet out etc.--depends how much you wrap around the light on the edges or I guess if you trim it. Soap and water will be your good friend! Keep 'em wet!......nice soft cloth and a credit card (wrap credit card in soft cloth) to wipe out water from under vinals when you have lined it up perfectly. Now, do I cover the white on my back tail lights!! ???....heheheh....need to think that one over.... GREAT! ....and I did it myself!
