Haven't been able to find an opinion from someone with resonators installed on an Eisenmann setup for a real opinion on it.
Resonators do a good job reducing high frequency band noise, drone is low frequency band noise which resonators dont help efficiently with..drone is all about good quality built mufflers and can be reduced with Hi flow cats

I bought these resonators after reading the thread, hoping that it'd quiet everything down a bit. Originally bought my car with vk catless downpipes and eisenmann race quad exhaust (eisenhaus). Got 2 hi-flow cats installed, however it's still quite loud starting up in the morning.

Since the cats were installed, there's no room to install midpipes where OP did... basically they're gonna spend few hours to weld it right before the muffler in an odd spot. Will this be worth it? And will it be just as effective being installed right before the muffler?

Exhaust note has to be fined tuned. You put High flow cats in there and it's still loud but remember the exhaust is loud to begin with. Adding resonators there might get rid of the rasp and I think that's what's making you think your exhaust is loud. At this point just install the resonators and hopefully it will fine tune it to your liking

just got the resonators installed today and it definitely cleaned up the sound! It only reduced the volume by a couple notches unfortunately, but no more rasp and alot less vibrations coming from the back.

instead of a ricey honda civic sound, my car now has a nice mean tone...

Glad it worked out for you. Any clips of the after sound?

cn555ic, I have an AT as well but with the Vishnu Exhaust, lots of drone. How is your CPE? Does it drone a lot? Also, did you get the stealth pipes? Probably need to invest in some resonators as well, great post!

I heard his exhaust in person and have some cabin time with him in his car...There is little to no drone with the cpe exhaust but I think it has alot to do with the x-pipe and the location of it and adding the resonators to his catless exhaust makes it almost sound stock like during cruise but when you WOT it definitely has a nice deep tone to it, but like again NO RASP is what you want...Not sure about Vishnu exhaust is it straight pipe to the mufflers, if so resonators would probably just minimize the drone slightly but you will definitely eliminate the rasp if you are catless

Where did they end up fitting the resonators in the piping for you?

Not to trouble you but I'd love to hear a in cabin video just so I can compare
it to my Eisenmann Race. If you can't do that's fine though. You're description
about the decreased rattle is enough to spark my interest. The Eisenmann Race does make the rear ashtray and the center compartment in rear seats rattle a bit.

Thank you for this post!

I have a 135i steptronic with a CP-e exhaust system with resonators AND stealth pipe. At 5th and 6th gear there would be some pretty loud low end cabin drone and a bit of vibration at 1500-2200rpms. Recently just installed the AR catless downpipes and it's even worse now even in 3rd gear. Hopefully these Vibrant resonators would help that....even if it's just a little bit. If not, at least it'll get rid of the rasp lol. With my BMS DCI and the turbo spooling from the downpipes, the rasp makes it sound like there's a huge exhaust leak!

Here is the link about those resonators that you pm me about! I got mine from StreetSideAuto.com but I am sure you can find it elsewhere...At the time this was the cheapest place I found them for 95 shipped and installation cost me about 150 at my exhaust shop

If I have the PE exhaust, I will need to find one that is 2 1/2 diameter?

The PE exhaust uses the factory midpipes, so I would think 2.25 is what you would need..

you can see them installed towards the end of the video, looks like they welded them in between the axle and muffler section.
