Utter SCUM !!

This happened to a guy in Scotland who posts on a Forum I run. Waiting for his car.

There are always little low-life, waster, scummy shits who nick things like that - and GUARANTEED they will appear on some chavved out, multi-coloured scrapper Focus. F*%ing annoying.

Quote:
Due to pick up the new RS Focus tomorrow and got an urgent call from the dealer this morning- this is what they found when they opened up this morning-They cut a hole in the compound fence, smashed the two front windows, got the locking nut from the glovebox and nicked the wheels.......

Not really sure if i want it now..........

I`m more shocked that the dealer rang him. Pretty sure most BMW dealers would`ve thrown a new set on and replaced the windows double quick.

Hope he gets looked after by the dealer Dave.

Not allowed do that, imagine the uproad had the new owner found out... (glass rattling etc)

They will give him the option of taking it, if he does not they will use it as a demo for 3 months, then they sell on.

I think he has decided to reject it. Quite right. It just wouldn't be the same as getting it new.

The CID reckon it was a planned job with how things were done.

You're right Carl, I remember my brother always parked his Cosworths directly outside any restaurant and got a seat by the window. You could always tell where he was when he was out wining & dining

In fact the Garage Trade Insurers at one point tried to refuse his Cosworth on the commercial insurance. Bit of hard talking, threatening and swearing was needed and they relented slightly but still only he (as named driver) could drive it, even on a taders policy.

Met up with his old car at a our Scottish Old Skool Escorts meet last year. Still looked good, well cared for - one of the last Cosworth 4x4s with full leather. It was magic when driving it new

Bloody ba$tards.

Don't blame him for rejecting the car if he has, really must take the shine off it.

Out of interest, is there not security at the dealership? Just curious as when I got the E92 335d which happened to arrive early and I was in France, I spoke with the dealer and asked him were the car would be kept. John informed me in no uncertain terms that the car would be held at their compound at another location in Hull that has full 24 hour security. Whether alot of dealers can afford of have those type of facilities I'm not sure. Think Hull is a tad close to the continent perhaps.

They'd struggle to run it as a demo car, as it has already been registered etc in the new owners name - the VAT qualifying paperwork etc would be 'impossible' to sort.

It'd hav to be repaired, sold and any losses probably taken on the chin.

Apparently there was CCTV :

Quote:
As luck would usually have it the CCTV apparently wasnt pointing to where the car was stored.........
You would have thought the dealership might have an inkling that leaving a new Focus RS in a compound would attract the eyes of SCUM.

I remember in the 80s talking with some Dealers from Glasgow, with them telling me they had cameras on their compounds and looking back at the footage you would see a car suddenly drop on one side. The scum were stealing the wheels on the opposite side of the cameras ...

Bollocks. You wouldn't believe what goes on pre delivery. Cars get resprayed, new wheels, new seats. Thats why cars get PDI'd to double check quality before handover. I know for a fact even high quality cars get work done!!!

ER, they would ''buy it'' back and stick it in the dealers name.
