There has been no news or announcements for any updates to these tires to the US market.

Thanks. My tires are due for a replacement in about 6months. Hopefully they'll be out by then.

Don't count on it. 6 months will be in the winter tire season and I've never seen Bridgestone introduce new summer performance tire outside of Spring/Early Summer.

The PS2 RFT would be the best runflat alternative available in the staggered 18" sizes.

I have a bit of new information on the Bridgestone third generation of tire.

Summary : The ride quality will be very near that of non runflat tires, but they aren't due out for a very long time.

More info :

Bridgestone did a long-lead press event this past June showcasing their “3G RFT” (Third Generation Run-Flat Tire) technology that promises to offer better ride quality than today’s run-flat tires while maintaining equivalent extended mobility in the event of complete air pressure loss.

Vertical stiffness comparison based on conventional non-run-flat tires (lower is better)

1st Gen Run-Flat 120

2nd Gen Run-Flat 115

3G RFT 105

Conventional Tires 100

As you can see, Bridgestone has been working to close the ride-comfort gap when it comes to run-flat ride quality.

Unfortunately while the technological progress is good, we’ve been told the introduction of O.E. or aftermarket 3G RFT tires is still several years away.
