downpipe or intercooler?

Got a Cobb remap.

Want more power.

Not much money.

So which one will give me more power? aftermarket intercooler or downpipes?

Downpipes will give you more power. Intercooler will keep the power going longer.

Intercooler . Keep those IAT's down that will let you make more power.

Most will say FMIC. This has been discussed in other threads.

Hard to say but my vote is for the intercooler for top end power and consistency.

What's your budget? If you are on a budget VRSF products are more affordable than manufacturers.

If you are sticking with Cobb maps, then the intercooler will get you more power. Cobb's mapping is more aggressive on Stage 1+ than on Stage 2.

Unlkely anyone with a RHD car would try themselves on their driveway as our steering rack makes it VERY difficult.

A good shop will charge about 4hrs for the install which is approx. £300, totally blowing the OP's budget. A FMIC job on a RHD car is no more difficult than LHD; it took me 45mins.

* Intercooler + BMS OCC (http://www.burgertuning.com/BMW_335_oil_catch_can.html) should be your 1st mod

and then DP's 2nd

I have BMS DPs and VRSF 7" intercooler. You can get both for under 500 pounds. FMIC is more DIY friendly than the DP install
