I just purchased a GTR-1001 for my subs, but did not bother to measure it beforehand. It is to large to fit in either of the comparments under the trunk carpet in my e92 335.

I was wondering if anyone knew what is under the black shield in the trunk, could I maybe cut this up alittle to fit it in there?

Also any other suggestions on where to mount this? I was thinking getting some brackets and mounting it under the trunk frame, up top on the frame, close to the seats, similar to this but not sure how easy that will be drilling into that frame...

Anyone have any suggestions here?

I had amps mounted under the rear deck in the trunk before.
I also once had them mounted to the back of the backseats, but that will block bass from getting into the cabin so don't do that! Lol

Yea I dont really want to mount them on my back seat... I am assuming you had to drill into the rear deck to get them mounted?

I believe so, installer did that.

I have since removed it tho, since I ended up changing amps with ones that fit in the hidden stock location.
