Light braking pulls left, hard braking pulls right?

I only really feel this at highway speed, but if I brake slightly it will pull gently to the left, but the harder I press htc more it pulls right. It pulls about half as much as I would normally do to change lanes, so not ideal.

The car is 2008 335xi, second season no snow tires but it did it on another set of wheels/tires as well. Freshly aligned and no difference. It did it before I replaced my brakes, and after. I do all at the same time, all new discs and pads. Compressed all the calipers to maximum, and checked the slides for any catching but didn't notice anything.

Not sure what else to do, is this a caliper issue or a bushing issue? Or something else altogether?

Based on the factors you've presented, I would really suspect it to be a bushing issue. I've never experienced a caliper problem altering the side it pulls to. Ans since you've had it with multiple tire sets, something is allowing the suspension to move when weight is transferred forward.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Any thoughts for front or rear control arms?

Since this issue effects STEERING best place to start, obviously, is the front.

My frustration though is that the front suspension control arms are $300+, and if I want front control arms plus steering rack arms it's $600+, not to include $100 alignment. So i could be at $700-800 and still have the issue...

Is there a way to check the control arms to verify if one is bad? I just don't want to spend $600 on front and 300 on rear before knowing that it is for sure the issue!
