This site is kinda of confusing.
I have a 2008 335xi e90. What bulbs do I need? Above poster linked to 10W but aren't there 20W bulbs? Or are they all the same? Can someone link the right bulbs for my model please, I would appreciate that. I contacted the website through email, phone and contact form but I haven't received an answer. Also how long do these bulbs last? I would hate to be changing hem every 3 months or so. |

Hey guys. Finally got mines done. I had to wait for extra error cancellors for my HID fod kit that took an extra week or so. Figured I'd do it all at the same time. Did my 20W LED A.E. from this vendor along with 6000k low beams and fog kits. Everything took about 3 hours from jacking the car up and removing wheels to completion. The A.E. part by itself took about 20 minutes to install, it wasn't difficult, it just sucked ass trying to fit my man hands into those tiny spots... (F U BMW Engineers) Anywho, here are a few pics.
After A.E. install on 1 side only In gloomy weather. Outer ring does not illuminate... or at least at this ^^^ angle. The trick that I've learned from reading up on the LUX V4 thread is to take pics from up to 20 feet away. This is done because you can't see the outer rings illuminated at that angle because of the way our eyes perceive light. Not to mention these are made to be seen from further away by oncoming traffic, not us standing 3 feet in front of it. Final pic with everything on. I really like the final product. Definitely worth $70 bucks. I will take more pics once the sun is out, then also at night. |

When I originally bought mines, I accidentally got the 10w because I thought they were on sale at $48. I just picked the wrong ones. I think the e92 set is $70 and the e90 is $60. Don't quote me on that, lol.
That website is confusing as hell... |

I'd love to see a side-by-side with $300 Lux bulbs. I'm sure the Lux's are better, but I'm betting the difference is very slight...

After a month of usage and swapping from Cree 20w's and 32w's to Lux V3's for practically free, here is my review:
Cree 20w - $60 per pair Cree 32w - $100 per pair Lux V3 used - $140 per pair In short: The more you pay, the brighter and sharper the outer ring becomes. Both the Cree's produced a colour temp of ~5500k, the exact color of sunlight. (Meaning they blend in much easier with the sun, making the outer ring not visible at all.) The Cree's did NOT dim as claimed by LUX. The 32w and 20w were noticeably different from eachother, 32w was noticeably brighter than the 20w for the inner ring and a tiny bit brighter for the outer ring. Now the LUX... I was not impressed, but was not disappointed. It was free for me after selling my Cree's, so it was a free "upgrade". The brightness is the same as the 32w Cree's, but that's a good thing because the LUX produces a higher color temp at the same brightness so it was much more noticeable during the day. (usually higher color temp = lower brightness) When I turned on the angel eyes a couple cm away from my garage door, I noticed that the LUX produces a more FOCUSED light whereas the Cree's produced a more SCATTERED light which is what I believe causes the "blurriness" and the uneven outer ring in the day. **The Cree 32w had a slightly brighter inner ring compared to the LUX, but it looked "blurry". The LUX was more defined both for the inner and outer rings.** The LUX v3's matched my 6000k low beams MUCH better than the Cree's. The Cree's almost looked YELLOW when turned on with my 6000k low beams. Conclusion: Find a used pair of Lux V3's if you can. At night in the parking lot, they both look awesome. In the day, the extra $ for a USED pair of LUX V3's is worth it. I have no idea how much brighter the V4's are, but all i've been reading is that the V3's are still the best. Honestly, I am not exactly satisfied with these and will be doing some custom work to my headlights in the near future. |

Thanks for the review! I've been shopping around and didn't want to pay $200-$300 for the upgrade. Seriously how much brighter can they get for $300. Anyway, just ordered a pair for $60 thanks to you. Definitely a great value based on your pictures.

Lux V4 in direct sunlight on an e92. Can be found in their original thread for the new bulbs.
Compare to all the pictures in this thread of the 20w bulbs. $230 vs $70. |

As well the 20W brands dim to about 1/3 brightness when the headlights are on while so they will be even dimmer. The LUX stay 100% brightness All the time in All modes

Let me know what you think! I've been driving with mine off every morning to my internship and on after work back home. Get lots of looks from other BMW drivers and they are definitely bright enough, I see my lights reflecting off cars bumpers from a far distance away
