No timing corrections are good. Its how bad they continue after a shift that will determine if the map is excessive. You're getting some mid pull which is never good.

But the first thing I see is ambient air pressure is 13.5.. you're not near sealevel thats for sure.
You need a custom map. The fuel scalers need some work to address the short term trims that are pull fuel at high rpm. A custom tune could also clean up the retards a little. Make sure you're running 1 heat range colder NGKs.

Start with this - https://www.docdroid.net/IyQ24N5/int...d-datalogs.pdf

Well i chucked a couple litres of e85 in to boost the octane so i'll see if that helps and re-log.
haha not at sea level, only 600m above tho so not too bad. but bloody hot here atm (only 29 celcius at the time of run tho @ night time)
cheers for the link

Anything more than say 1200 feet elevation is a pretty good devation from what the ots maps are intended for.. 14.7 psi is sea level..

Just replaced my boost solenoids and some of the vacume lines

https://datazap.me/u/au-bmw335i/log-...5-266&mark=235

Boost appears to be much closer to target now. Whats with all the timing corrections though? Fuel is 98RON and Map is for 95RON.

Car has a FMIC and DPs, so should I be going for a different map? Stage 2+ but 91RON?

Lots of timing corrections but only on specific cilinders (1-2-4), long time since you replaced coilpacks or sparkplugs? You can start with switching the coils on 1-2-4 with 3-5-6 and see if the misfires also switch with them...

98RON should be enough for a 95RON map so that's not the issue here I guess... Unless your gas station has really bad fuel.

Thanks Jerain. Plugs and coils replaced 2 months ago, so I know that isn't the issue. No misfires, runs like a dream.

Maybe bad injectors? They are mostly index 9 with one 6 for some reason.

Hi,

First of all I'm no expert yet so it is worth listening to other comments before reacting

What I can see on your log looks good except that you have timing corrections on several cylinders.
that would mean the ECU detect knock and reduces timing to protect the engine.

The tune being known, I could imagine the fuel is not high enough quality (octane) for the tune.

maybe you can add what octane setting you tune with and what fuel you use.

Well you got a lot going on but not really with spool.. WGDCs are at 90+ building boost as you go thru 2500 rpm - they then drop down as you get closer to target.

Im not sure why you mean by not meeting target.

Boost target? it and Boost mean are only like 1 psi apart.

But, you got bigger issues on the shift. DME is probably pulling power and closing throttle due to torque limits. And when it goes back to power you get retards. A custom tune could work those out.

So i decided to drop down to the v7 map in attempt to clear the corrections, and magic; no timing corrections at all! (i add about 5L e85 to each tank)
definitely a tad slower (2psi boost down). But everything is looking pretty clean i think! V8 tune is just a bit too aggressive at the moment i think
V8 map exceeds the boost target by 1psi (but sticks with the mean psi) and v7 is under 1 psi (again sticking with the mean psi)

Got AR-Design Downpipes staring at me in the garage to put on after Christmas and jump to stage 2+, and then get a LPFP stage 2 upgrade in and go to e30!
I'm way too excited haha

Most people don't realize your car is a DCT and that torque limit 4 is possible due to calibration issue with boost ceiling. I'll need you to contact me so we can test because if boost ceiling isn't modified you should not be getting torque limit 4 on shift which causes shift bog for the DCT.

The throttle closure is nothing more than secondary boost control due to the RPM drop and boost overshooting target. I'm working on fixing that with the next map release, but the forum tuners don't understand that boost target doesn't commend boost, it's a ceiling which I can control with BLM and load request. There are a few other factors, but I won't go into detail. Bottom line, depending on conditions you might not boost to target and that's OK. There is nothing that says you need to increase WGDC so that boost is riding target. Nice thing about keeping boost target lower than load request is that target only closes the throttle and doesn't cause a massive drop it WGDC so the car remains smooth and pulls through the throttle closure without you even feeling it.

BTW, the post shift corrections are common. More than likely your octane level is boarder line and the cylinder pressure post shift is high enough you're seeing a bit more noise that the knock sensors are picking up on.

I'll shoot you an email with the information I need. Then you can post up the new logs once we figure out your torque limit 4 issue.

Intake temps were considerably hotter on v8 log though, Probably why the knock was their compared to your v7 log. But yeah v7 is a little tamer. What sort of fmic are you running?
Also you dont really need to log all the Timing Cyl. 1 through to 6. Timing Cyl. 1 (*CRK) is all thats needed as its all the same. And log your Short/long term fuel trims (STFT and LTFT) to see how thats going

AR DP's look pretty good did you go catless?

I've done a few logs on v8 and they all get timing corrections, even at lower intake temps which sucks. I like the extra boost hahah
I've got a vrsf 7" but it was 29 degrees celcius so not that high considering

Yeah got catless keen for the extra sound wot
Cheers I'll put the fuel trims in next

Pulsing...

I recently installed resonated DPs and flashed to Stage 2 . I have 800 miles on it, and am noticing that at cruise when I'm just tipping into the throttle, the car has micro-surges, like a pulsing about every 2 seconds. Decel and any level of accel, it's totally smooth. If I hold the throttle steady, I can see the MPG gauge fluctuate, but it's not enough to change the RPM. I pulled a log of this condition and am hoping someone can provide some insight as to what's going on. There's also a log of a pull in the same link (change logs.) Thank you!

Any comments? '09 335xi 6MT

My stock turbos are rattling and on the list for replacement but I still need to save some $$

Mods:
MHD Stage 2+
Helix FMIC
CP-E catless DPs
ER CP w/ Tial BOV
ER oil cooler
VTT inlets
Mishimoto radiator

stock turbos and fueling

I also realize the logs aren't ideal... I had an opportunity with some clear space ahead and decided to see what I could capture.

Would appreciate it if someone could check out my log. I just switched from Cobb to MHD and want to make sure the car is running alright. I'm planning on installing a stage 2 lpfp so I can safely run e85. I'm currently FBO with stock turbos and running the stage 2+ 93 oct v8 map. I just logged the default parameters. Let me know what you think! Thanks in advance.
