Brake Reset Error
My car is a 2007 e91 328xi. I recently had my front brakes changed at an indy shop. When they were resetting the cluster maintenance counter they accidentally changed the rear brake to a value of -20000. They then tried to reset it via scan tool to no avail. I needed the car back so they asked me to schedule another appointment to have this fixed. When I got home I tried to reset through the cluster method, but was also unsuccessful.
Has anyone had this issue before? My rear brakes are nearly new and only have about 10k on them. I would rather not have my car down for another day and would also like to avoid the dealer as my car is out of warranty. [/IMG] |

Did they change the sensors?
The computer has to register a difference in resistance in order to be reset. If your sensor didn't set off a maintenance reminder, then you cannot reset the brake life indicator.
