I hate freaking Paypal. As a seller, I got scammed once and they did shiet for me. They are happy to take your money and do nothing for you. Avoid paypal for all non-ebay transactions. Otherwise you will be screwed.

American Express is notorious in the business world for hunting down these things. Sort of weird it was different for you.

Ask any business about American Express credit - the company would rather take the loss than deal with AX lawyers.

Great for the consumer, absolutely the devil for any business owner.

called amex, they were finally able to help me out. +1 to American Express, i guess the vendor had not processed my order until recently, and the charge was not present until last night, will have a refund immediately. be wary of the vendors on these forums, and always ask around first.

AMEX has always helped me out.

Regarding telling your CC it was an unauthorized purchase... I'd say don't do it... it's illegal. because you DID authorize paypal to charge your card

However, you can try to explain the situation and see what they can do for you

Exactly! I was lost for words when I heard from revC american express was not able to help him. I am a huge american express user and have always received 100% of ill-charged transaction back.
